JOB PURPOSEIn line with the Fragrance & Beauty vision and mission, the Account Manager will lead an energetic and passionate team of people who are dedicated to creating experiences with our clients. Through a keen sense of business acumen, the Account Manager is responsible for all retail activities that contribute to the brand’s image and leadership in the market by liaising with field and head office functions. They will be responsible for the day to day running of the counter and continue to coach and mentor the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLeading the team: the Account Manager guides their team towards achieving results and developing individual talents
- They will create an environment rich with ethics, integrity and diversity, which leads to positive team collaboration
- Proactively identify, address and manage any employee relations issues with the support of their Retail Development Manager in accordance with the local CHANEL policies and procedures and share feedback on performance
- Help facilitate frequent team and individual communication in order to ensure collective knowledge to all members of the team
- Share the brand vision and the business challenges, give meaning and empowerment to the team while holding them accountable
Business developer: the Account Manager embodies an entrepreneurial spirit
- Responsible for building CHANEL’s portfolio of clients through data capture in line with the brand expectation
- Develop business initiatives in line with the brand vision and strategy
- Takes responsibility for staff rotas including day-to-day operational zoning to ensure floor coverage and optimal client experience
- Communicate retail and collateral stock needs to all necessary parties
- Has a solid understanding of the business environment
- Provide feedback and reporting to line manager in order to influence strategies and recommendations
Experience creator: the Account Manager creates conditions for a consistent and memorable experience
- Lead by example on the selling floor by creating tailor-made, personalised client experiences and build long-lasting relationships
- Consider the omni-channel journey as a whole and help the team embrace digital shopping trends
- Facilitate the resolution of client service complaints with a holistic approach so that each client leaves satisfied, regardless of which channel they chose to shop
- Ensure team has tools/training to provide a CHANEL client experience
- Ensure visual merchandising guidelines are adhered to throughout the counter and guarantee that the business remains clean, tidy and welcoming at all times

The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Sales Account Manager to drive profitable growth across Berkshire and West Surrey. This is more than just a sales role – it is an ambassadorial position, representing the Berkmann portfolio and our prestigious agency brands in the South of England.
You will be responsible for winning and managing a designated account base, driving profitability, identifying new business opportunities, and bringing our brands to life through tastings, events, and strategic brand activities. You will also work closely with our Marketing, Logistics, and Finance teams to deliver an exceptional end-to-end customer experience.
Your Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Achieve and exceed volume, value, and margin sales targets
- Identify and onboard profitable new accounts without compromising existing sectors
- Develop strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders in trade accounts
- Act as a confident brand ambassador, hosting tastings and supporting after-hours events
- Provide accurate forecasting and market feedback to support planning and logistics
- Manage pricing, promotional investment, and account-level profitability
- Use customer data to optimise sales strategies and stock management
- Champion collaboration between Berkmann, our producers, and customers
- Keep the business informed with timely competitor and market insights
- Support portfolio development based on customer and market trends
What We Are Looking For
- Proven on trade sales experience
- Strong wine knowledge, WSET Level 2 minimum
- Experience selling luxury or premium brands is highly advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience working with brand owners and developing go-to-market strategies
- Analytical, commercially astute, and numerate – comfortable with pricing models and P&L interpretation
- A persuasive communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and confidence to influence at all levels

Working Pattern

What you'll do as an Account Manager:

 About the role
 As a result of our incredible success and growth, we are looking for a Sales Account Manager to join us.
Responsibilities include
- Manage a portfolio of circa 40 client accounts, with potential for further growth depending on business needs
- Lead renewal processes and proactively look for upsell and cross sell opportunities
- Conduct daily client meetings with high profile brands, both virtually and in-person, to maintain strong relationships and ensure client satisfaction.

- You’ll need to manage your own time, whilst developing and maintaining daily call plans in order to get results.

The successful candidate will execute the sales strategy, initiate contact with existing and potential customers, identify needs and sell appropriate products and services to meet those needs. This role will report to our Head of EMEA Sales and will interact directly with existing accounts and prospective clients primarily within the banking and electronic trading sector.
Responsibilities and duties (include but are not limited to:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all client requests, technical matters, and new business inquiries in a pre-defined set of accounts.
- Develop overall knowledge of assigned accounts including products sold, asset classes traded, clients, and business issues; proactively and regularly communicate account status to senior management.
- Proactively leverage and keep tools and repositories up to date to aid in account planning, opportunity development, and forecasting (e.g. SalesForce.com, Confluence). Build proposals, price, and deliver a curated value proposition to client/prospect.
- Interact with various stakeholders on the client side at all levels from junior resources up to C-level; identify decision makers; build and maintain client relationships.
- Run executive briefings to CxO level to provide updates and roadmaps on technology Drive activities of regional sales managers in a manner that creates brand awareness and creates strong lines of communication from the field to senior management.
- Align business requirements to solutions to help customers define technology strategies. Develop messaging for new solutions and technologies to educate customers and prospects on how it resolves their business challenges.
- Collect data on and analyse sales-related information and statistics in order to accurately and effectively plan interactions and to develop action plans for regional sales managers.
- Win business with the overall goal of maintaining and growing monthly recurring revenue in your account base relative to established sales targets.
- Work with sales management, legal and logistics to negotiate commercial terms in Master Services Agreements and Service Orders.
- Partner with sales engineering to define mid- and low-level technical requirements for the proposed solution.
- Develop and nurture strong customer contacts and positive, proactive relationships with prospects ensuring open streams of communication.
Education, Skills, and Background (including Experience Requirements:
- Proven track record selling to Financial Markets is a must.
- Demonstrated experience selling Financial Services solutions including Market Data, Connectivity, high-end software and/or hardware solutions into Trading firms (across asset class)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and strong PowerPoint and Excel skills critical
- Superb communication skills and ability to interact with all levels or organizations Track record of exceeding quotas year after year.
- Exceptional skills in sales presentations and experience in using salesforce.com.
- Consistent performer who overachieves sales revenue targets and goals, with strong business acumen and exceptional organization skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Exceptionally customer focused.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and interact with all levels of management Self-starter, team player, energetic, enthusiastic and organized.
- Emphasizes on attention to detail & comfortable acting as a de facto project coordinator who will advocate for both the company and client.
- Driven and proactive, comfortable escalating issues in context of possible solutions
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) would be an advantage.
Working Arrangements:
This is a Hybrid position with weekly time in the office with the flexibility of working from home. Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions/geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA and APAC).

What will your day to day look like?
- Plan, direct and lead the operations of the team alongside the Sales Manager
