Your purpose:
The role will include electrical engineering design and the provision of technical support to the operation and decommissioning of nuclear and power generation facilities. This may include the following:
- Production of feasibility, concept and detailed design deliverables (i.e. calculations, modelling, specifications, drawings).
- Production of technical reports, procedures and drawings.
- Project requirement identification and design substantiation.
- Specification of electrical plant and equipment to achieve process objectives.
- Provision of consultancy advice on power station medium and high voltage apparatus.
- Operations & Maintenance technical support, including condition monitoring for asset management.
- Contribution to the technical delivery of multi-disciplinary projects.
- Other key aspects of the role will include assisting in the production of bids and proposals and implementing and contributing to safety initiatives.
What you can bring:
- Honours degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Membership of IET and Chartered Engineer status, or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Some relevant industry experience and support to technically challenging projects.

RESPONISBILITES
In the role of Electrical Power Engineer, we'll count on you to:
- Support the design and engineering of high-voltage substation and power delivery projects from concept through to detailed design.
- Assist in preparing technical documentation including reports, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, and protection engineers to integrate solutions.
- Participate in design reviews, quality checks, and client meetings with the support of senior staff.
- Help interpret and apply relevant design codes, standards, and client specifications (e.g. IEC, IEEE, ANSI).
- Engage in internal learning opportunities to develop technical expertise and progress toward chartership.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required); Master's degree (desirable).
- Working toward or interest in obtaining Chartered status.
- Minimum 2years of experience in electrical design, ideally in high-voltage substations or switchyard projects.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems design, including one-line diagrams, cable sizing, earthing, and protection schemes.
- Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSILENT or similar) is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a proactive and positive attitude.

- Design and specification of medium and low voltage electrical networks, including knowledge of relevant engineering software.
- Understanding of power generation technologies, in particular HV electrical rotating machines and static plant.
- Expertise in power station condition monitoring techniques. Including thorough knowledge (in general and for HV electrical work in particular) of site safety systems, preparation of risk assessments and method statements.
- Operational plant experience to allow troubleshooting based on real plant issues gained from operator and consultancy provider perspectives.
- Review of plant equipment, systems and operating regimes to identify problems and develop.

The main responsibility of the power system support engineer is to work with Electric Utilities System Operators and Transmission System Operators.
The candidate will be part of an existing maintenance and support team and will provide technical expertise, guidance to customers on the GE Vernova Software solutions like AEMS Reliance. Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work with customers to gather information, investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex issues.
- Provide support for incoming tickets across various power system modules of the AEMS product
- Develop fixes and products enhancement in collaboration with other GE Vernova Electrification Software experts.
- Provide maintenance of power systems application functionality, including code fixes, documentation, and user interfaces.
- Perform the regular build deployment activities, Orchestrates the deployment process and guides the application through different environments until it reaches production
- Handle out of hours 24/7 emergency support
- Facilitating the relationship between customer and 3rd party vendors.
- Travel to customer sites in the region as required.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge level is comparable to a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience) OR
- Degree in electrical Power Systems plus track record in software development or project delivery in related field
Essential Criteria
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make formal and informal presentation to technical and non-technical staff and customers.
- Excellent programming skills in C, C++, C#, Python or other related language.
- Knowledge or experience in any RDBMS and Linux.
- Good understanding of power systems and/or energy management systems with focus on transmission Network Applications like State Estimation, Contingency Analysis, Optimal Power Flow or Dispatcher training Simulator.

- Work and/or academic experience in the power systems area.
- Knowledge and experience with electric utility industry practices
- Strong knowledge of customer perspective and needs.

- Have significant previous experience in an electrical engineering management role.
- Ability to communicate at all levels in the organisation and to key stakeholders out with the organisation.
- Have an interest to actively develop external and internal relationships and be prepared take part in industry working groups and other professional bodies.
