Fire and Security Service Engineer (Temporary Sub - Contract Role)

V7 are looking for multi-disciplined service and maintenance engineers for an a exciting long term contract opportunity in the east midlands area. With this contract as a multi-disciplined service engineer you will have the chance to self mange and work on multiple housing sites across your area. The client we are working with are a national business, who specialize in the security industry and due to a number of major contract wins they are looking for dedicated engineers to join there team.

Job Details

• 6 months rolling contract.
• Monday - Friday work (weekend work available)
• Covering sites across the east midlands
• Good experience in servicing and maintenance of fire, emergency lights, intercom and access control
• Have an ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities

Requirements

• Experience in service and maintenance of security systems and fire panels.
• Ability to undertake service and reactive repairs.

Location: Mansfield

The Company: Large National Fire and Security Company, with the highest accreditation are on the lookout for additional engineers.

They are NSI Accredited Gold, NSI Fire old, BAFE and NSI Gold.

Package:

Basic £36,000 - £42,000

Company vehicle, including personal use.

Travel time paid after 30 minutes each way

The salary ranges from £35,000 to £5,000 (depending on experience) with an uncapped commission structure - realistic OTE of 5k to 100k.  Benefits include a company car, laptop, phone and company pension.

This is a straight to permanent role. 

Key Responsibilities include:

Business Development

• Identify and pursue new and existing opportunities within the Fire & Security sector

• Drive new sales, upselling, and cross-selling across your territory

• Build and maintain a strong pipeline via networking, cold calls, site visits, client meetings, and industry events

• Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs

Sales Execution

• Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets

• Prepare and deliver persuasive proposals and presentations

Customer Relationship Management

• Carry out service and preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, testing and repairs on various generators and associated electrical / mechanical critical power equipment.
• Maintain and service critical power supply equipment and associated electrical equipment, mainly generators in a wide variety of commercial and industrial sites across Nottinghamshire.
• Carry out load bank testing, site surveys, inspections, fault-finding, repairs and testing of generator sets and associated generator equipment.
• Carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis to generators and critical power equipment.
• Liaise with various engineering departments.
• Full product training provided.

• Experience as a Service Engineer, Electrical Engineer, UPS Engineer, Generator Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Service Technician or similar.
• Field Service background in electrical and / or mechanical engineering generators
• Solid understanding and experience within critical power applications such as LV control panels, electrical distribution, power electronics, electrical installation, generators or similar.
• Full UK driving licence
• Flexible for overtime / part of the on-call rota
• BS7671 (18th edition) Wiring Regulations, ECS / CSCS Card would be desirable qualifications & experience
• A technical electrical / mechanical engineering qualification, apprentice trained, HNC, HND or degree would be advantageous
• Commutable to Nottingham

Responsibilities of the Service Engineer

• Servicing and repair of trucks as directed by the Service Manager.

• Completing a report for each job on a PDA system.

Requirements of the Service Engineer

• NVQ Level 2 in Plant, Maintenance or Vehicle - Preferably Apprentice trained
• Experienced working on Forklift Trucks
• Full UK Driving License
• Good at managing own workload and able to cope with pressure.

• Good team player.
