Senior Solicitor / Motor / Maternity Cover Overview A leading insurance litigation firm in Belfast is seeking a Senior Solicitor to manage a varied caseload of litigated motor injury, fraud, and credit hire cases. This temporary maternity cover position offers an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with 510 years PQE to handle complex cases predominantly in the High Court. Key Responsibilities Manage a personal caseload of high value motor injury claims. Communicate with sophisticated insurer clients, providing updates and addressing queries. Conduct forensic analysis of quantum evidence, preparing chronologies and identifying anomalies. Utilize knowledge of complex injury symptomology to identify relevant issues within medical records. Draft concise technical advice on indemnity, liability, quantum, and causation issues. Proactively identify next steps and take action as agreed. Interview witnesses and draft statements. Liaise with parties involved in claims, including the insured, insurer, and witnesses. Draft pleadings and applications. Instruct counsel and attend conferences, JSMs, and mediations both remotely and in person. Attend court in person or by telephone, and participate in trials and settlement conferences. Deliver agreed performance targets and quality standards. Delegate tasks to Legal Assistants and/or Paralegals, engaging in their development. Maintain case management systems with up-to-date management information. Ensure compliance with LSNI regulations. Participate in business development activities. Working Hours & Location Hours: 35 hours per week; Monday Friday, 9 am 5 pm with 1-hour unpaid lunch. Location: Belfast Office. Essential Experience & Skills Qualified solicitor with 510 years PQE or proven relevant legal experience. Experience in indemnity, liability, and quantum essential. Experience in credit hire desired.
