I am recruiting for a Site Manager on behalf of a respected structural steel contractor. This is a hands-on site-based role, responsible for managing the full delivery of structural steel packages on live construction projects.
Candidates must have a Black CSCS Card – this is non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day site operations from mobilisation to completion.
- Manage the installation of structural steelwork in line with project plans and specifications.
- Coordinate and supervise site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor progress and report regularly to the project team.
- Conduct and attend regular site meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Enforce Health & Safety compliance and company procedures on-site.
- Resolve site-based issues and escalate as required.
- Liaise with the project manager, commercial team, and design team as needed.
- Maintain accurate site records, including RAMS, site diaries, and reports.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager in the structural steelwork sector.
- SMSTS and First Aid certifications.
- Strong understanding of structural steel erection methods and safe practices.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage teams and subcontractors effectively on-site.
