**Summary:**
+ Under minimal guidance, installs, repairs, troubleshoots and maintains equipment such as manufacturing process equipment, CNC machinery, robotics, automation, conveyance systems, packaging systems, and ancillary equipment within industrial manufacturing settings. Sensor Installation, breakdown support, aiding ATS projects for growth. Applies knowledge and aptitude of industrial electrical, electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Has exposure to and familiarity with various industry controls programs.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Performs competent break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing devises in operation to determine root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; and performing troubleshooting and repair of electrical circuitry and mechanical systems.
+ Identifies parts, supplies and repair items as necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.
+ With minimal instruction, performs maintenance as per industry standards.
+ Works with customer counterparts to execute maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.
+ May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks.
+ Conforms and complies with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes
+ Documents work performed in service reports, and applicable management systems.
+ Performs routine processes with and within industrial control systems to troubleshoots and analyzes complex equipment, perform equipment maintenance, and to resolve equipment problems.
+ Utilizes in-depth application of electrical, mechanical, and fluid power aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
+ Completes and conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.
+ Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies:**
- Relevant education to level six and minimum five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialised tools as appropriate.
- Possesses working knowledge and experience regarding electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems
in related fields. Can analyse the problems, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs
- Extensive travel required. (Local, National, International).

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join their growing team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of sophisticated industrial equipment at client sites. You will be the technical point of contact for customers, providing expert support and ensuring optimal performance of their machinery. The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. Travel will be a significant component of this role, requiring flexibility and a dedication to customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, commission, and start-up new equipment at customer locations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative servicing on a range of industrial machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and resolve issues promptly.
  • Document all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
  • Order and manage spare parts inventory as required.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during service calls.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback to the engineering department on product performance and potential improvements.
Qualifications:
  • HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings.
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Experience with PLC systems is a plus.
This is a full-time, field-based role, requiring extensive travel but based within the region of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK .
