Network Engineer - Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet/F5 - Shift Work - London
My client, a leading name in the technology space, is looking for an experienced Network Engineer (Inside IR35) to join their team on an initial 3-month contract. This is a key role supporting a complex enterprise environment, requiring strong technical knowledge across both networking and security domains.
Location: onsite in London 5 days pw for day shifts. Evening and night shifts will be remote
Shifts: Rotational shift work is required, including night shifts
Required Skills & Experience:
You don't need expertise in all technologies listed below, but strong skills in at least one or more of the following areas are essential:
- F5 LTM (Local Traffic Manager)
- Akamai CDN and security solutions
- Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls & FortiManager
- Juniper SRX Firewalls and Switches
- Cisco ISE - for RADIUS and network access control
- Cisco Nexus 7000 series Switches
In addition, you'll bring:
- Proven experience with Access Control Lists (ACLs), network segmentation, and perimeter security best practices
- A solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, and core routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
- Experience with high availability networking setups
- Strong troubleshooting ability using packet capture and log analysis
- Familiarity with tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, and other SNMP-based monitoring solutions

Salary starting from £36,435, shift allowance of up to £464.27 per month pro rata, 10% bonus potential, 25 days annual leave and a generous pension scheme
p> Full time Permanent p>Chelmsford Mail Centre, CM2 5AAAs a Work Area Manager, you will work in the busy Chelmsford Mail Centre, responsible for managing operations in a specified area.
Shift Pattern
Monday to Friday 14:00 - 22:12. Flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the unit.
What does the role involve?
Leading a dedicated team of up to 40 direct employees, you will hold regular one to one and team meetings and review the area’s performance and plans on a daily basis. Championing health and safety initiatives, increasing efficiency, and identifying areas of improvements will be essential to your role.
Supporting the Shift Manager, you will provide a high quality of service to our customers and ensure all operational targets are met. With line management responsibility you’ll manage your team’s sick absence, attendance, training and development and you’ll get involved in our programme of continuous improvement.
