We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media & Video Content Specialist to cover a maternity leave for 12 months.
Based from our office in Raunds, Northamptonshire you will join the busy Marketing team and be the go to for leading video-first social content.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll need to be confident filming and editing, spotting trends, and bringing original content ideas to the table – not waiting for direction. You’ll work closely with our other Social Media Specialist, Social Media Manager and the wider team to deliver content that supports campaigns, drives engagement, and shows off our products, people and partnerships.
What will I be doing?
- Create short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn.
- Confidently film and edit in CapCut and Canva, shaping content around trending formats and sound.
- Understand platform best practices – including video ratios, length, trends, and tone of voice.
- Maintain our visual house style but evolve it as platforms and trends shift.
- Travel to depots, showrooms, and shoots to capture product, people, and behind-the-scenes content.
- Engage with depot teams, customers, and stakeholders to film authentic, real-life stories.
- Use Canva and Photoshop to create static content for posts and campaigns.
- Actively track trending audio, formats, and content styles – and use them in a way that makes sense for Howdens.
- Support influencer campaigns from start to finish – from outreach and briefing to content chasing, creation, and post-production. Own timelines, ensure all assets are delivered on time, and lead on campaign reporting.
- Lead on the PR activations for influencer campaigns – aligning to wider PR plans and making sure the correct content is captured, and plans are in place
What we need from you.
- Strong experience creating short-form video content for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, etc. li>Confident using CapCut, Canva, and Photoshop.
- Solid understanding of each social media platform’s best practices – ratios, video lengths, formats, and what drives performance.
- < i>Excellent communicator – especially with creators, agencies, and internal teams. < i>Experience managing influencer campaigns, PR and social content delivery.
- Aware of content KPIs and how to optimise performance using insights.
- Collaborative and organised – comfortable working at pace and managing multiple priorities < i>Understand platform best practices – including video ratios, length, trends, and tone of voice.

Requirements
What We’re Looking For

- Creative mindset with strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Familiarity with social media trends, platforms, and best practices (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
- Self-starter comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- Awareness and understanding of accessibility standards in communications.
