The Role
We are seeking a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Therapy team at our client’s adult day service. This is an exciting opportunity to support a caseload of adults with complex speech, language, communication, and dysphagia needs, while also supervising a small team of Speech and Language Therapists. As part of the team, you will:
- Deliver specialist interventions such as AAC, Intensive Interaction, and Sensory Programmes.
- Support service users and their families with tailored, high-quality care.
- Lead and supervise a small team, ensuring best practice and service development to meet evolving needs.
- We are looking for a qualified, HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist with experience working with individuals with complex needs and their families.
- Candidates specialised in dysphagia are highly desirable.

Our clinicians are a crucial part of the most joined-up model in SEND. The Speech & Language Therapist Lead will:
- Supervise and mentor less experienced therapists, providing guidance and training.
- Develop and support therapy pathways within the Autism Diagnostic service.
- Conduct specialist assessments and communicate findings with the multidisciplinary team.
- Engage in clinical work with individuals and groups, using autism-specific approaches.
- Lead post-diagnostic workshops and provide recommendations to parents and teachers.
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to practice development and research.
