Working collaboratively with theeducation team, you will deliver bespokeSpeech and LanguageTherapyassessment and interventionto pupilswho may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs?You will work within the standardsprovidedin theOFGSpeech and Language Therapy Ways of Working. Essential Criteria:
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered
- 1-2 yrs experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting.
- Some relevant experience in a previously held job of engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
- Some knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma informed practice
- Some experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings
- Some experience of communicating with/working with families/relatives and carers
- An interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
- Good relationship building, analytical and judgmental skills
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
- Knowledge of different SaLT assessment tools, types of intervention and knowledge of how to formulate support plans based on needs profile
- Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to the client group
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary team
- Willingness to attend training and working towards further qualifications relevant to the client group supporting
Desirable:
- Some understanding of the other differences, e.g. sensory and motor, which mayimpact on an individuals communication strengths, differences, traits, difficulties and needs profile
- Some evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication

This role is based at
Pontville School . You will be working as part of a large MDT, and within an embedded Speech Therapy team.
Pontville School is an independent specialist day school providing quality education with a focus on speech, language and social communication. Many of our pupils are autistic with high levels of anxiety.
Our clinicians are a crucial part of the most joined-up model in SEND. Across all of our specialist schools and children’s homes, we provide unrivalled levels of clinical support, both in terms of our expertise and breadth of provision. Our young people present with a complexity of need including developmental trauma, neuro-developmental conditions and special educational needs.
As part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team you will be supporting educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments and, based on clinical assessment and formulation, offer individualised interventions and engagement to our young people. You’ll also be assessing our young people’s mental health and recommend appropriate interventions in a personalised care plan. Building rapport is key, by doing this you’ll be able to deliver effective counselling and feedback on progress.

We are currently recruiting for a Speech & Language Therapist - Gloucestershire Council
Salary : 195 Per Day
Hours: 25
Working Schedule : Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Role : 6 Month Contract
Location : Shire Hall, GL1 2TG
Job Details
Working hours, location - 3 days per week (circa 25 hours), Gloucestershire, office base Gloucester but will need to travel across county.
Require a clean driving license and an Enhanced children and adults DBS
The 3 days are negotiable and there would need to be a level of flexibility as would be working with children and families, schools and settings.
Working closely with the EHCP Service and other professional working in SEND.
Role would provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy written advice and attend hearing as witness on behalf of the local authority for SENDIST appeals, and or undertake professional discussions with other Speech and Language Therapists regarding the content of their professional report and recommendations.
