ABOUT THE POSITION
Senior Structural Engineer | Temp / On-call
VHB's structural engineering group plays a vital role in developing and enhancing connectivity through infrastructure projects such as complex bridge and interchange designs, rehabilitation and inspection, pedestrian walkways, and transit stations. This diverse range of structural engineering services helps improve mobility for the traveling public. Among its recent recognitions, VHB won seven awards at the American Council of Engineering, as well as Engineering News-Record’s 2024 New England Design Firm of the Year, recognizing its impactful development and infrastructure projects in the New England area
VHB is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic and growing Structures group on a flexible basis. In this position, you would support the planning, analysis, and design of a diverse portfolio of structural projects across New England.
This role could be performed by a fully remote engineer who resides within the MA/RI/NH region and could travel to client sites when needed.
Responsibilities
- Support, develop, organize and implements structural planning, analysis, preliminary and final design document preparation.
- Task management
- Reviews plans, specifications, reports, and analyses to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in structural engineering
- Demonstrated excellence in technical writing.

- Knowledge of structural engineering software

- 8-11 years of professional experience in structural bridge and building design required, construction phasing, and complex projects 11+ preferred.
- BS in Civil Engineering. Master’s Degree preferred.
- PE licensure required.
