About The Role
Working closely with the Operations and Supply Chain team to:
- Improve the impact and understanding of operational & agricultural reporting.
- Provide analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to operational actions and strategies.
- Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with all Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics and Agriculture members
Key Accountabilities of the role – What I do
(The below is not exhaustive)
Reporting & Analysis - Operations And Agriculture
- Weekly & Monthly KPI reporting, including variance analysis and explanation.
- Monthly reporting analysis and insight
- Monthly Management accounts and supporting schedules
- Producing balance sheet reconciliations where appropriate and working to resolve any queries associated with them
- Support completion of statutory accounts and all associated reporting required by the Financial Accounting Manager
- Liaise with external contracts including auditors and consultants to ensure information requirements are met
- Building partnerships with operational colleagues at all levels
- Communicating performance expectations with partners and group accounting
- Investigating causes of significant variances and providing analysis of options to management identifying opportunities and risks
- Provide a link between finance and non-finance information and provide general advice and assistance to business partners.
- Preparation, review and challenge of cost budgets and forecasts
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and tasks for the Operations and Agriculture teams and Finance Director
- Strive for continual improvements on tasks in both time and accuracy

Qualifications: Working towards a recognised accounting qualification (e.g ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Experience: Operational / manufacturing and/or logistics experience.
Skills: Highly numerate and literate. High level of attention to detail. Good analytical skills. Excellent Excel and IT skills. Good business and commercial awareness. Effective stakeholder management skills.

This pivotal role will be responsible for defining and implementing the logistics requirements that support both existing and future processes, ensuring the warehouse design aligns with business case objectives and operational needs.

Key responsibilities:Understand and assess the current supply chain, warehouse and logistics operations to confirm alignment with the proposed warehouse design.
Formulate and carry out supply chain and logistics assessments for additional sectors on site that are presently not catered to by supply chain.
Work together with supply chain departments on-site and across the Lonza network to define the operational guidelines for the new location, encompassing the site supply approach.
Serve as the key interface between operational end users and the project team, providing essential input throughout all project phases from development to operational use.
Ensure that the operational viewpoint and expertise are fully coordinated into the considerations of the team.
Consult with end-user functions at the existing site to guarantee acceptance of the technical solution definitions.
Apply lean principles to drive efficiency and continuous improvement in all logistics operations.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Shown proficiency in setting up and overseeing supply chain, warehouse and logistics operations.
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, across all organisational levels.
Demonstrated success in planning and delivering projects and programs within agreed timescales, with a results-focused approach.
Experience of GxP/GMP compliance training is highly desirable for this role but not essential!
Experience in handling audits, investigations, and documentation control.
Certifications such as PMP, CSCP, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or APICS are highly desirable.
