We have an opportunity for a Lead Engineer - Surface Design to join the team at our Silverstone facility. In this role you will lead a group of highly creative and skilled design engineers to deliver high quality surface geometry models to aid the aerodynamic development of the team’s race car. We aspire to be the absolute best in every aspect of our team. • Management and responsibility of the Surface Design Team, including leading the delivery of high quality and complex surface geometry models for CFD, Wind Tunnel and full-size release
• Work closely with Aerodynamicists to understand the definition and scope of all new surfaces, including modeling and construction approach
• Liaise with model designers to ensure efficient implementation of aerodynamic projects
• Manage and organise the release of aero surface geometry to the full-size car design office
• Liaise with full-size car designers to create high quality surface geometry for full-size release
• Mentor junior members of the group and support pushing forward methodologies and modeling improvements
• Implement and manage standard design practices, ensuring these are adhered to
• Maintain any relevant surface modeling documentation

The Opportunity

As a member of the Pre-Sales team, you will be responsible for designing solutions to meet the customers’ requirements. Part of this process will involve creating technical drawings and writing up the functionality of the system in order to make up part of the proposal documentation.

Another aspect of your responsibilities will involve being on hand for the sales team to provide them with technical support during the sales process, carry out site surveys to ensure all aspects of the customers’ requirements are met and the solution proposed technically fits the environment, and specifying the correct amount of labour required to carry out the installation successfully.
