Key job responsibilities
Systems Developers are expected to develop best practices, refine operational procedures and constantly innovate proactively. You will continuously identify areas of growth within the existing frameworks, tools and processes to develop further technical mechanisms to reduce waste and continuously improve our testing and control systems.

A day in the life

About the team
Our Living Room organisation currently deploys its platform to more than 2000+ devices, ranging from televisions to consoles, set-top boxes and streaming sticks. Our mission is to build the best infrastructure systems and testing tools to improve the SDLC for developers building applications on living room devices. Our space is challenging, and there are no ready blueprints. To deliver this mission our team are constantly inventing state-of-the-art solutions that are creative and scalable.
As part of the team, you will learn and leverage the full Prime Video technical stack. Our main goal is to improve the SDLC for developers creating applications on the living room platform. Basic Qualifications
- Programming experience with Python preferred, or at least 1 other modern language such as C++, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript and Rust

- Experience with networking and cloud systems for remote testing environments

The software teams are highly educated (many with PhDs), and academic background is important in their technical recruitment approach.
Currently, they are looking to recruit a Software Development Engineer to join a nascent group to incorporate innovative AI / ML features into their software offerings. The focus is still on design, development and deployment of well-engineered scalable software solutions, the challenge is how to best utilise AI / ML into these software products.
Requirements:
- Strong academic background, minimally a Master’s in computer science, physics, engineering or similar, and ideally a PhD in a relevant subject area.-
- Demonstrable experience developing desktop and web applications including production-grade software. This should include experience with software architecture and understanding how to support structured (SQL) and unstructured (RAG) data.
- Experience with Python and C++ / C# including how to integrate ML features.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or relevant work experience
Working knowledge of Linux system administration
Experience of systems automation using BASH, Python, Perl, etc
Experience of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP)
Good troubleshooting skills at all levels, from application to network to host
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to cloud computing concepts and design considerations

+ Experience in design of power distribution and transmission infrastructure
