We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Network Maintenance Craftsperson – Mechanical to become a key part of our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of pressure reduction installations and associated assets across our network.
You will also play a vital role in supporting the design, installation, and commissioning of new and replacement assets, working closely with our Capital Projects team to help deliver high-quality infrastructure improvements.
A full UK driving licence is a requirement for this role
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Carry out decommissioning, installation, commissioning, validation, modification, and repair activities in line with relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Ensure all work delivers optimal technical performance and equipment reliability, while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance li>Prepare reports and provide information, guidance and advice to stakeholders and management and third-party customers on technical matters
- Support or lead activities such as plant inspections, network surveys, and the design and costing of network modifications. Prepare detailed technical specifications and cost estimates to support project planning and delivery
- Maintain accurate records of activities to satisfy Maintenance and Capital Projects, NGN, third party and legislative requirements
- Work towards all perimetry requirements and procedures including complex non-routine operations and routine operations affecting the NGN network
- Ensure a high standard of customer and stakeholder service
What we are looking for
- < i>Hands-on experience in fault finding, repair, and commissioning of pressure reduction installations and pre-heating systems, including component replacement and system optimisation
- Familiarity with hazardous area operations, accurate completion of technical documentation, and the ability to manage spares and materials to support maintenance activities
- Self-motivated, capable of planning your own activities and be able to use IT in the field for work reporting li>Strong problem-solver and an analytical-thinker with excellent communication skills
- Proactive attitude and a strong team player whilst also having the ability to work on your own initiative and comfortable with lone working out of hours
- Operational and/or project management experience in a relevant field
- Knowledge of codes of practice, engineering instructions and safety requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- EUSR Gas passport, SCO 1, 2 and 4, 5 Years’ experience on gas distribution systems, TEM 2,4 and IOSH < i>Experience of working on pressure reduction equipment above and below 7 bar
- Relevant mechanical maintenance or pressure control training City & Guilds or NVQ III

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
This role primarily involves the administration and oversight of our Workforce Management (WFM) system, with a focus on the Time and Attendance functionality. As a system administrator, you will be responsible for the implementation, delivery and training of the software for new clients, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.

- Stakeholder and Operational Support: Liaise with the wider teams, managers, front line server workers, HR, payroll and vendors to ensure timely delivery with operational support
- Workforce Scheduling and Compliance: Assist in the configuration scheduling rules, shift pattens and pay
- Reporting and Analytics: Generate and interpret workforce data reports to support HR and Payroll requirements and identify trends in attendance, overtime, productivity and annual leave
- User training and Documentation: support efforts by updating or creating user guides, FAQs and process flows. Provide training both in person and remotely
- Project Coordination Support: Assist with project teams with scheduling meetings, minute taking and maintaining project documentation
- Administrative Support: Support by preparing reports, updating logs and managing communication between stakeholders, helping maintaining clarity and momentum throughout the project lifecycle
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in system administration or IT support roles, ideally within HR or Workforce management systems
- Familiar with HR and Payroll operational and system requirements
- Strong IT and Operational problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Onboarding and Engagement: experience in guiding and managing onboarding new users and clients
- Excellent communication skills with a user focus approach
- Experience with handing data, system integration and user training
QUALIFICATIONS
- Workforce Management Expertise: 3+ years hands-on experience administrating workforce management systems, with a strong user focus mindset
- HR and Payroll Knowledge: solid understanding of HR and Payroll operations, including system requirements
