How You Will Do It:

The successful candidate will be tasked with taking engineering requirements from customers and designing bespoke software solutions that are able to be delivered within time and cost constraints. This will involve interfacing with both commercial off the shelf (COTS) components as well as custom designed interfaces, LabVIEW and other software programs. Key requirements

* 3+ Years Software design and development in National Instruments LabVIEW (CLD+ preferred)
* Demonstratable experience of software design process from development through to validation
* Experience in automated test, measurement or control
* System design and specification documentation
* Creation of top-level system drawings and diagrams
* Liaise with customers on specific project requirements
* Produce fit for purpose software within time and project constraints
* System integration test and fault finding including on-site works

The Belcan team is working on exciting new projects and is looking for Systems Engineers with Matlab and Simulink experience. Based in Glasgow the role can be carried out remotely.

These are Contract roles (Inside IR35) with Hybrid or Remote working, you will be part of the Belcan project team engaged on technologically advanced Control systems.

Due to winning new projects, we are recruiting Contract Systems Engineers for an initial 12 month contract, who will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing engineering system models in Simulink for Aerospace and Marine applications.

They will need a deep understanding of control systems, signal processing, and model-based design. Matlab will be used to generate the code for the Simulink model. The engineer will optimize the models for performance, accuracy, and resource utilization. Create comprehensive documentation for the models, including user guides and technical specifications.

They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers, and have the ability to liaise and work with Stakeholders to provide services accurately and on time.

The role will provide an important element in the Active Control System to be used on a new Submarine platform, a type of hydrostatic / hydro dynamic autopilot.

Ideally the successful Systems Engineers will be degree qualified with previous experience in the above Systems, or transferable Systems skills from other Vehicle industries, and a proven track record in Engineering.
