Role Overview:
As an Engineer, you will assist in the installation and maintenance of fire and security equipment and expand your knowledge on different systems. Your workdays will be dynamic and diverse. One day, you might be installing fire extinguishers, while the next, you will be servicing a large commercial fire or intruder alarm system. Regardless of the task, one constant remains: you will always represent our client's business and recognise the importance of delivering exceptional customer service.

The Important Bit - The Package:
- Starting salary of £5,000 with OTE potential of 0K+ li>Local work around Swindon area
- 25 Days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays
- Additional day off for your birthday
- Continuous ongoing training opportunities with direct access to training centre and support from the National Training Manager
- Company pension
- Company van, laptop, tablet, mobile phone, and uniform
- Permanent contract, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm but with flexibility to suit.

Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in maintaining and fault-finding fire alarms, or access control systems, intruder alarms and CCTV (further training will be available) along with minor works desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage own workload with minimal supervision
- Diligence and commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Full UK driving license
Due to the nature of the business, successful applicants will be subject to Security Screening in accordance with BS7858.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and specify fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems according to client requirements and relevant British Standards (e.g., BS 5839, BS 7671).
- Install, commission, and test fire and security systems, ensuring they are fully operational and compliant.
- Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and fault finding on a variety of security and fire systems.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to clients, resolving system issues promptly.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and testing activities.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and regulations in the fire and security industry.
- Potentially train clients on the operation of installed systems.
- Respond to emergency call-outs as required to address critical system failures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire and security systems.
- Strong knowledge of BS 5839, BS 7671, EN 50131, and other relevant standards.
- Experience with various fire alarm panels (e.g., Kentec, C-TEC, Advanced) and security system manufacturers (e.g., Paxton, Hikvision, Texecom).
- Excellent understanding of electrical principles and wiring practices.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults efficiently.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Relevant certifications such as ECS or Fire & Security qualifications are highly desirable.
