What we look for

We are looking for a Policy Wording Specialist to join our Commercial division on a 6-month Fixed Term contract or Secondment.

You will work with the Head of Commercial Direct Underwriting Development and manage the Commercial Direct suite of policy wordings (covering our SME product). You will liaise with HO underwriting team to identify areas of improvement, to ensure that they are market leading.

This is a hybrid opportunity with two London or Leeds office days a week.

What you'll be doing:

Owning the document compliance process, liaising with various stakeholders within the wider business to obtain sign off and approval.

Work with the Underwriting and Product Management areas to continually assess and develop our wordings are market comparable as a minimum standard.

Responsible for writing, updating and delivering wording changes, including working with stakeholders to achieve delivery

Lead the annual wording reviews, including ownership of any actions required

Assist Head of Commercial Direct Underwriting and Head of Commercial Direct Underwriting Development in ensuring product wordings are maintained and developed in line with strategic, regulatory and statutory developments.

Responsible for maintaining a centralised log of all changes to wordings, to ensure we comply with all internal control processes

What you'll need:

Expertise in drafting, updating, and reviewing insurance policy wordings to ensure market competitiveness and compliance

Strong knowledge of regulatory, statutory, and internal control requirements

Skilled in leading annual wording reviews and delivering changes in collaboration with stakeholders

Experience maintaining centralised records of wording updates to support governance and audit

Attention to detail and written communication skills

Ability to align product wordings with strategic and regulatory developments

What the role involves:

As an experienced Technical Writing Lead, you will be a key player on the Midnight team developing ground-breaking technology in one of the most exciting fields in the world. Midnight is a regulatory-friendly data protection blockchain that safeguards sensitive commercial and personal data. Midnight protects fundamental freedoms of association, commerce, and expression for developers, companies, and individuals. 

In this leadership role, you will oversee the creation and evolution of high-quality, developer-focused technical content while managing and mentoring a small team of technical writers. Reporting to the Head of Marketing,  you will play a crucial role in translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation and papers for developers who will become an essential part of the Midnight ecosystem. Your work will empower developers, stakeholders, and users to maximize the potential of our blockchain solutions.

  • Lead the technical writing function, managing and mentoring a small team of technical writers to ensure alignment, consistency, and continuous development across all documentation efforts. 
  • Set documentation strategy with the Midnight Foundation to establish and maintain documentation standards, process, and style guides that scale with Midnight’s ecosystem and development community. 
  • Own core documentation delivered. Work with Engineering and Product teams to create, edit and maintain documentation and other assets, including user guides, release notes, product documentation, white papers, and more. 
  • Drive collaboration and cross-functional alignment between Shielded Technologies and the Midnight Foundation,  ensuring proper communication during product releases and working closely with Developer Relationships, Product, Engineering and Marketing. 
  • Ensure that all documentation is designed with a user-centric perspective, making complex topics accessible to a diverse audience.
  • Ensure documentation complies with industry standards, any relevant regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Build feedback loops and mechanisms for collecting and incorporating user and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve the quality and relevance of the documentation.

Requirements

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Communications, Technical Writing) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer and Team Leader, with a strong portfolio showcasing your previous work.
  • Solid understanding of blockchain technology and its principles is desirable.
  • Proficiency in tools commonly used for technical writing, such as Markdown, Git, Docusaurus, revision control, and documentation platforms.
  • Experience with programming and using APIs
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and inspire technical writers to produce high-impact content. 
  • Ability to provide strategic thinking to set and execute a documentation vision aligned with product, marketing and ecosystem goals. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are vital.
  • The ability to research and gather information from various sources, including technical specifications, development teams, and subject matter experts, is critical to producing accurate and comprehensive documentation.
  • A strong focus on the end user is essential. Technical Writers should be able to empathize with the needs of developers, stakeholders, and users and design documentation accordingly.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is necessary to ensure accuracy and consistency in documentation. Errors or inaccuracies can lead to confusion or misinterpretation.
  • Strong project management skills are valuable for organizing documentation projects, meeting deadlines, and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements and a willingness to revise and update documentation as needed is essential.

Weu2019re looking for a Technical Superintendent (spec writing) to join our Maritime team, responsible for delivering expert technical support across the Carnival UK Fleet. This pivotal role focuses on the development and management of detailed technical specifications for refits and major maintenance projects, ensuring our ships operate safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.



As a subject matter expert, you will survey our ships and draft technical specifications for system replacements and upgrades. Working across a wide range of systems including propulsion, diesel generation, mechanical and energy efficiency technologies. Youu2019ll liaise closely with ship teams, regulatory bodies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure we have accurate and correct specifications that can be provided to vendors to quote from.



What Youu2019ll Be Doing:


Preparing and delivering high-quality technical specifications for refit and maintenance activities.
Ensuring compliance with SOLAS, IMO, Flag, Class, and corporate regulations.
Supporting procurement activities with clear and commercially sound technical documentation.
Visiting vessels whilst in service and in dock to liaise with crew members on system requirements and inspect condition first hand.



This role is positioned at CUK07 level within our organization and is available on a full-time permanent basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.



**What You'll Bring:**



Your unique background and skills are what will make you stand out. We're looking for:


Degree or equivalent qualification in a technical, or engineering discipline.
Proven experience preparing technical specifications for complex engineering systems.
Thorough knowledge of marine approved materials and technologies. E.g Georg Fischer, Armaflex, LORO.
Expert knowledge of reading and marking up drawings, to include GAu2019s and P&IDu2019s.
Strong understanding of ship systems and maritime regulations (SOLAS, Class Rules, etc.).
Excellent communication and project leadership skills, with the ability to engage across all levels.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Willingness to get hands dirty, to take measurements and draft drawings, to then return to the office and write up formally.

Engineering Certificate of Competence (CoC).

Responsibilities of the Content Writer:

  • Create clear, engaging, and accurate content tailored to senior business decision-makers in the financial services sector.

  • Research complex financial topics and translate them into accessible and insightful content.

  • Write long-form and short-form content including:

    • Articles, blogs, and whitepapers

    • Case studies and client success stories

    • Website copy and landing pages

    • Email marketing content and newsletters

    • Product or service descriptions

  • Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to align content with strategic goals.

  • Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand tone and style.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitor content.

  • Optimise content for SEO where appropriate.

  • Manage multiple content projects simultaneously, often with tight deadlines.

Profile

The successful candidate:

  • Will have experience in working with B2B firms (ideally within the financial services sector) on developing and executing on their content marketing strategy
  • Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.

  • Ability to write confidently on financial topics such as risk, compliance, investment trends, market outlooks, and digital transformation in finance.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Are you an experienced Content Writer and would like to work for a very established and reputable organisation and are looking for a long term career? You will be working within a lively and ambitious team who provide a professional service. There is a salary of £25,000 plus many benefits including an early finish on a Friday! Immediate start is available. This is an office based role, Monday to Friday, no remote working.

The Role:

·   Writing smart, engaging content for websites, blogs, email campaigns, brochures, and social media.

·   Researching topics in depth, including interviewing key people to capture their voice and expertise.

·   Making sure content is SEO-optimised and built to perform online, structure, keywords, user intent, all of it.

·   Bringing a unique tone of voice to each brand, whether that’s warm and friendly or bold and expert.

·   Proofreading carefully and making sure everything meets high standards.

·   Using content management systems (like WordPress) to build and manage content.

·   Contributing to campaign planning, creative sessions, and the development of our podcast offering.

About You:

·   At least 1 year’s experience in a writing, content, or communications role in a professional setting.

·   Brilliant written English, grammar, spelling, and tone are second nature to you.
