Key Responsibilities:

I am currently recruiting for an Electrical Test Engineer to work for a leading Engineering organisation based in London. Salary up to 35,800 OTE 48,800 + Benefits

What you'll do

  • Perform IPC-level inspections of electronic assemblies before the test or as part of the production cycle
  • Execute formal test documentation, including recording of results-hardware, software and firmware programme configuration
  • Take measurements using common range test equipment
  • Provide feedback for test documentation discrepancies
  • Become familiar with the operating system, record all results in a timely manner and keep an up-to-date narrative
  • Ensure all H&S requirements are met, and the assembly area is maintained as a safe, clean and tidy working environment

A Production Test Engineer is required for a long term contract assignment based in Stevenage.

Candidates must have HNC/HND (Electronics) Level of Qualifications or equivalent, plus good level of experience in digital & analogue electronics manufacture and test.

Overview of department: Manufacturing department

Responsibilities:
Production test and diagnostics of complex weapons at system and Subsystem level.

* Testing of complex electronic & electrical equipment, and diagnosis of production test failures down to component level. Identification of corrective action, in a timely manner allowing Manufacturing to continue production in line with programme.

* Assessment of Test Equipment issues, directing support services to resolve equipment failures. * Evaluation of technical problems in order to develop proposals for investigations and corrective actions, including process improvements.

* Test Engineering representative at Defect Review Board meetings to ensure efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications towards corrective action. Role requirements (skills, training and qualifications)

* A good understanding of measurement and test principles, and associated equipment.

* An understanding of RF and microwave technology at subsystem level would be an advantage.

* An understanding of Environmental testing (including ESS) would also be an advantage.

* Good planning and organising skills.

* Communication skills, with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
