Our client, a prestigious arts organisation in **Bristol, South West England, UK**, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Theatre Stage Manager to oversee the technical and artistic aspects of their productions. This demanding role requires exceptional leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic theatre environment. You will be the central point of contact for all production departments, ensuring smooth operations from rehearsal through to performance.

- Plan, schedule, and manage all rehearsals, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
- Oversee all technical aspects of productions, including lighting, sound, set changes, and special effects.
- Coordinate communication between directors, designers, actors, and technical crew.
- Maintain detailed stage management books, including blocking, cues, and technical notes.
- Manage the stage and backstage areas, ensuring safety and organization at all times.
- Call cues during performances, ensuring precise timing and execution.
- Conduct daily pre-show checks and post-show procedures.
- Manage the stage management team and casual staff, providing clear direction and support.
- Liaise with venue management and external contractors as required.
- Ensure adherence to production budgets and schedules.
- Assist in the creation and management of production paperwork.
- Uphold company standards for health, safety, and welfare within the production environment.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Stage Manager in a theatre setting.
- Proven experience managing a variety of theatrical productions, from large-scale to intimate.
- Strong understanding of all technical theatre disciplines.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to motivate and direct diverse teams.
- Proficiency in industry-standard stage management software and techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure and react calmly to unexpected situations.
- A degree in Theatre Arts, Stage Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- A collaborative approach and a passion for live performance.
