We are currently advertising for two new Mental Health Adviser to work within our Mental health Support Team. Come and be part of a professional and passionate team committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational experience for our students.
This is an exciting role based in the Mental Wellbeing Team within Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity at Loughborough University.
Mental Health Advisers support students presenting with ongoing mental health difficulties. The team seek to address equality issues relating to barriers associated with mental health and disability; provide ongoing specialist mentoring support via the DSA process, manage cases of complex presentation and risk, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, advocate for students and provide ad-hoc training as required. This is a busy, demanding and rewarding role.
Reporting to the Mental Health Support Team Practice Lead, this role is an exciting opportunity to shape support for students with mental health difficulties. The main areas of the role are:
- To assess, organise, co-ordinate, monitor and track support for students with mental health difficulties, in line with recommendations from their DSA assessment.
- To ensure appropriate recommendations for reasonable adjustments are made through the University’s formal procedures in accordance with the Equality Act (2010), whilst ensuring students are aware of their entitlement to support from the University and external sources.
- To assess and respond to complex and emerging issues of student risk, including suicide and self-harm, through action or referral whilst working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and external agencies as required.
- To provide specialist professional activity in support of the service including liaising with the Mental Health Practice Lead to drive forward strategic developments in inclusion at the University.
We particularly encourage applications from Black and Minority Ethnic groups who are currently under-represented within Loughborough University at grade 6 within professional services.
The two posts are for 0.69 FTE, 36 weeks per year, hours to be agreed.

We are currently expanding and seeking two new Neurodiversity Mental Health Advisors. Come and be part of a professional and passionate team committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational experience for students.
Neurodiversity Mental Health Advisors, based in the Mental Wellbeing Team, are part of a multidisciplinary team supporting working to meet the academic, practical and organisational needs of applicants and students with neurodiversity and mental health difficulties, whilst liaising with other University staff and/or external agencies to facilitate support provision.
We are committed to providing a high standard of service which respects disabled students’ rights and promotes their wellbeing; enabling students to access their academic study, rather than management or treatment of a specific condition.
Reporting to the Neurodiversity Mental Health Practice Lead, this role is an exciting opportunity to shape support for neurodiverse students with co-occurring mental health difficulties. The main areas of the role are:
- To assess, organise, co-ordinate, monitor and track support for students with neurodiverse Conditions alongside any co-occurring mental health difficulties, in line with recommendations from their DSA assessment.
- To ensure appropriate recommendations for reasonable adjustments are made through the University’s formal procedures in accordance with the Equality Act (2010), whilst ensuring students are aware of their entitlement to support from the University and external sources.
- To assess and respond to complex and emerging issues of student risk, including suicide and self-harm, through action or referral whilst working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and external agencies as required.
- To provide specialist professional activity in support of the service including liaising with the Neurodiversity Mental Health Practice Lead to drive forward strategic developments in inclusion at the University.

There are 2 positions:
1 x 1 FTE – Full Time, Open Ended working all year round.

- 2 weeks during the final two weeks of Term Four.
- 3 weeks to be agreed
