On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for a Senior UNIX Administrator for a 6 month contract based in the bank’s London office on a hybrid working model of 3 days per week in the office and 2 from home.

Key Responsibilities- As a lead subject matter expert you will be responsible for all aspects of operational support of the bank’s UNIX servers, as part of a global team operating on a follow the sun support model.
- You will be responsible for operational break-fix work, implementing scheduled changes and managing OS security compliance.
- You will provide technical consulting and interface with Incident Management and CIO management during resolution of critical incidents.
- You will be one of the owners of operational UNIX support in the bank and own relationships with peer technology teams such as Storage and Database, and your colleagues in UNIX Engineering.
- You will be a consulting senior expert in UNIX to staff in a team made up from full time and contingent staff, across 3 locations covering support for the EMEA timezone.
- As a lead SME and staff member you will be a stakeholder in our relationships with our service providing vendors and will be involved in service managing our hardware, software and specialised staffing providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in science or related field or equivalent education.
- 10+ years of experience with UNIX system administration: upgrades, patching and configuration management, performance management, troubleshooting, analysis and capacity planning.
- Good working knowledge of technologies interfacing to UNIX, including Networking and Storage.
- Previous experience of UNIX operational support, with work in banking and finance desirable.
- Strong solution-oriented and analytical thinking
- Experiences in Scripting: Bash, Python, Perl, or Ansible.

**The Role**
As an Associate Service Reliability Engineer at Proofpoint you will develop a deep understanding of the various infrastructure services and applications that are the critical foundation for delivering Proofpoint's next generation security products.
