Freelance Contract: Working 7.5 hours per day, 7 days per week

About You  

As our Freelance Visual Merchandiser , you will play a critical role in shaping the visual identity of our first retail store. This is a strategic and hands-on role that will involve concept development, layout planning, fixture recommendations, and seasonal visual updates—ensuring our store communicates the brand’s DNA while driving customer engagement and sales.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Working with our brand, project management, and marketing teams to design visual merchandising concepts aligned with our brand identity
  • Developing floor plans, fixture layouts, and visual merchandising guides for the new store
  • Creating window and in-store display mockups and planograms
  • Sourcing or advising on mannequins, display props, signage, and visual assets
  • Providing recommendations on in-store flow and customer experience enhancements
  • Supporting seasonal refreshes and product drops with updated visual strategies
  • Ensuring visual consistency across all product categories and brand touchpoints
  • Offering on-site support during store setup and launch phases (if local or travelable)

You'll need to have:

  • 10+ years of visual merchandising experience in retail fashion or lifestyle brands; athleisure or activewear a strong plus
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous retail and display work
  • Proficiency in spatial planning tools (SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, or similar)
  • Strong sense of style, color theory, and brand storytelling
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across creative and operations teams
  • Flexibility to work in-person for key milestones (store walkthroughs, installation, etc.)

  • A genuine passion for fitness or active living, with a deep understanding of the performance-driven consumer
  • A flair for premium brand expression and sensitivity to visual storytelling and in-store design
  • A strong point of view on leading retail concepts and immersive in-store experiences

Responsibilities include:
+ Support the management of the visual proposition by promoting the brand merchandise and delivering an exceptional standard of visual presentation both inside and in the windows.
+ Be aware of sales budgets, mystery shops, VM visits and model store.
+ Support the install all window schemes to an excellent standard, and maintain on a daily basis.
+ Style all mannequins; these can be dressed to guideline, local market and as per market direction.
+ Participate in staff meetings, as needed and keep the team up to date with moves, direction and changes.
+ Implement with the support of the Store Managers, the brand visual guidelines, ensuring market specific direction is considered.
+ Monitor and support the Store Managers and department managers with the money mapping of VM presentation and react accordingly.
+ Work in collaboration with the VM Co-Ordinator and Store Managers to map the floor space and location of the collections looking at the store's option counts of new and existing product lines.
+ Support with the pre planning, delivery and execution of SALE and Model store to market guideline mapping sales plan with VM Co-Ordinator and Store Managers.
+ Maintain strong product knowledge regarding merchandise in order VM correctly and to communicate to customers for more effective selling.
+ Support the Store Managers by ensuring the sales team delivers consistent and accurate replenishment of product onto the sales floor.
+ Support the Store Managers in training the store team on visual execution and standards.
+ Assist the VM Co-Ordinator in the execution, coaching and training of brand and seasonal guidelines within store.
+ Walk the windows daily to identify product challenges and daily standards of presentation
+ Work in collaboration with the key department managers to achieve best VM standards for the store.
+ Communicate with key stakeholders to understand key planned activity, reporting back to VM HQ.
+ Support the delivery of marketing events in the location.
+ Develop strong relationships with other Brand VM and Field VM teams. Contributing to HO VM meetings where necessary.
+ Assist the VM Co-Ordinator by contributing to Model store guidelines.
