POSITION SUMMARY:
Join our Aftermarket team in Skelmersdale as a Warehouse Operative, where you’ll be responsible for receiving, picking, packing, and dispatching goods, as well as handling warranty returns and service exchanges. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- This is a fully functional warehouse operative role, covering all warehouse duties including Receiving, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods, warranty returns and service exchange.
- You will be responsible for accurately picking, packing, and dispatching parts to meet our internal and external customer requirements and wider business needs.
- Operate specialty equipment such as fork-lift trucks, Scissor Lifts, reach trucks etc.
- Ensure that the right parts are picked and packed to the agreed performance levels.
- Responsible for taking the delivery of goods and supplies.
- Safely store, pick, and dispatch stock using manual or mechanical manoeuvre, including moving stock around by hand or with MHE.
- Keep paperwork up-to-date and maintain accurate records of stock, highlighting any discrepancies that may have occurred.
- Participate in maintaining an agreed housekeeping standard with the use of the 5S principle.
- Comply with all Health and Safety legislation.
- Continually strive to spot opportunities for process improvement to ensure the highest level of efficiency.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- An awareness of Health & Safety Legislation and individual/company requirements.
- A determination to be the best at whatever task you undertake.
- Ability to lift heavy objects

- Experience of working as a Warehouse Operative within a similar environment.

- NVQ or equivalent in Warehouse or Operations would be desirable but not essential.
- Full UK Drivers Licence, FLT, HLOP and Scissor lift Licences are desirable but not essential. If no MHE licenses. You will have a desire to obtain them within six months.
- A knowledge of using a WMS, handheld scanners and Microsoft 365.

Temporary ongoing role
Despatch operative 37- 40 weekly
Pay 12.60 - increasing to 12.98 after 12 weeks
Overtime paid at time and a half
Hours of work
Week 1
Monday to Thursday 8am -4pm
Friday 7am -2pm / 40 hours weekly
Week 2
Monday to Thursday 7.30am -4.30pm
Friday day off / 34 hours weekly
Late shift Monday to Friday 2pm - 10.30pm (higher pate rate awarded)
About the role
Working within the Warehouse Department, and as part of a team of Despatch Operatives, this role is crucial to achieving the best-in-class delivery of our products to the vast network of international customers.
In the role, you will be responsible for picking and packing orders for the printers, spares, and ink in an accurate and timely manner to achieve on time delivery targets. You will ensure Health and Safety policies and procedures are always adhered to and maintain the highest standards of housekeeping in all areas
About you
We are looking for a great team player, exceptionally organised, and self-motivated with a strong communication and customer service orientation as well as great attention to details and ability to multi-task. You must be reliable with excellent attendance and a positive overall attitude to work and your colleagues.
Previous experience of working within warehouse/manufacturing would be advantageous. Desirable but not essential a knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP system.
Background Checks
Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will need to complete background checks including a DBS check and 5 years' employment references - these will need to be completed before the start the role.
