As an Operations Assistant based in Consett you will be responsible for:
Carrying out general warehouse tasks - This will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. Radiators, Boilers, Sinks, Toilets
Booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away in the designated location
Picking and packing customer orders
Maintaining high standards of H&S within the warehouse
Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations
Handling customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously
This is a permanent full time position working 40 hours a week working Monday to Friday between 06.30am - 3.00pm.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Warehouse Operative, you'll be a key part of the parcel journey:
- Loading and unloading parcels from trailers
- Moving parcels through the warehouse safely and efficiently
- Operating mechanised parcel sorting equipment
- Sorting up to 40,000 items with your team during a single shift
- Ensuring every parcel – big or small – is handled with care and reaches its destination on time
What We're Looking For
We welcome individuals from all backgrounds – no previous experience is required, but it's a bonus if you've worked in similar environments.
Our ideal candidate:
- Is flexible and comfortable switching between tasks
- Can lift parcels up to 30kg and push loads up to 250kg (with assistance for heavier items)
- Is physically fit and able to manage long shifts on their feet
- Is motivated, reliable, and ready to work as part of a team

- Support with unloading incoming deliveries and loading outbound shipments as required.
