Join our dynamic Water Solutions team as a Design Manager, based in our rapidly growing England & Wales offices with the benefit of our flexible hybrid working model.

Experience in managing the technical delivery of water and wastewater engineering projects with multi-disciplinary knowledge, ideally including treatment schemes and/or pipeline design. You will also have experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams.
Relevant experience in a similar role for a water company, consultancy or contractor.
Hands on experience, designing complex wastewater treatment solutions.
A degree or equivalent in a related engineering subject (e.g. civil, electrical, mechanical) and/or equivalent experience.
Chartered or Incorporated with a relevant institution e.g. ICE, CIWEM or working towards it.
Experience of undertaking feasibility studies, options appraisal and concept design, and/or outline and detailed design for water company clients and design and build contractors.

Project Manager
Lead and manage projects with full accountability for successful delivery, including budget and schedule.
Oversee project contracts, ensuring they are delivered within scope, budget, and timeframes.
Handle change management by documenting early warnings, preparing variations, and negotiating and implementing changes with clients.
Develop and maintain project timelines, identifying risks, dependencies, and required resources.
Assess and mitigate project risks and opportunities, ensuring successful outcomes.
Manage contracts under various forms, such as NEC.
Ensure quality management processes are followed for all project activities and outputs.
Engage with stakeholders, managing their interests and influence to achieve project goals.
Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams across the business.
Oversee subcontractor and supply chain performance to meet project requirements.
Build strong relationships with clients and cross-functional team members.
Lead bid management for design tenders on standalone projects and framework contracts.
Project Director
Oversee the work of one or more Project Managers and provide support as required into any of the Project Managers tasks noted above.
Provide input/support on continuous improvement to, and execution of, project delivery procedures.

The role can sit across any of our offices within the region, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester or Warrington, with the opportunity to work on significant Strategic Resource Option (SRO) Projects and exciting water frameworks such as United Utilities Design Development Partnership, Yorkshire Water's Storm Overflow Alliance and Northumbrian Water's Strategic Technical Partnership.
These SRO projects and large frameworks require experienced and skilled leaders to take overall responsibility for delivery and to ensure successful project outcomes. As a Project Director, you'll be a key part of our sector leadership structure. You'll report directly to the Regional Director whilst also having a matrix reporting line to the Major Projects Discipline and Market Area Director. You'll be a strategic and hands-on leader, guiding our Project Managers and teams to deliver large-scale projects and programmes, with a particular focus on those where we work with contractors, notably in the design & construction (D&C) environment.
We need Project Directors like you to support the incredible growth we're seeing in our Major Projects portfolio. Your in-depth experience of D&C will be critical in building our capability and capacity, whilst your proven leadership skills will help manage business risk.
You'll also play a pivotal role in shaping Stantec's future. Working with the Major Projects Discipline & Market Area Director, you'll help develop our people, whilst working with the Regional Leadership teams to implement commercial and risk management strategies across our projects and programmes. **About You**
This role is for a project leader with a track record in delivering successful Major Projects within a multidisciplinary environment(preferably in the water sector). You will possess an in-depthunderstanding of design for construction and the commercial acumen to ensure successful financial outcomes.
As primary contact for our clients, you will also have the ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships, whilst also being able todemonstrate exemplary HSSE management & wellbeing behaviour.
You will ideally hold Chartership status with a relevant institution.
