Great opportunity to work as a Production Line Leader for one of the largest providers of fresh flowers to major supermarket chains throughout the UK.
Staffline is recruiting for Production Line Leaders for day shift in Alconbury .
The rate of pay is:
- Day shift is paid at £13.78 per hour
- Overtime is paid at £7.23 per hour
This is a full-time role; we are recruiting for day shift only.
The shift pattern will be:
- 4 on 3 off
- 3 on 4 off
The hours of work are:
- 6:30am to 7pm
Please note you must be flexible and willing to work on night shift during Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Christmas peaks.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidates.
Your Time at Work
As a Production Line Leader your duties will include:
- Lead, coach, and motivate the team to achieve performance targets and maintain high-quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and customer specifications across all processes.
- Deliver an efficient packing operation on a daily basis.
- Oversee daily operations, manage production schedules, and promptly resolve any issues.
- Provide training and ensure adherence to operational procedures and company policies.
- Support manufacturing initiatives and drive continuous improvement, ensuring all KPIs are met and work is within budgetary constraints.
- Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the packaging area.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of production data, waste, and returns.

- Previous supervisory or team management experience
- Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and health & safety protocols
- Experience in fresh produce, food production, or FMCG environments
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Great communication skills
The ideal candidate will be consistent and reliable, with a strong ability to lead by example and maintain a positive, solution-focused approach. Behavioural safety training and experience with the Rubicon ERP system are advantageous, as is experience in lean manufacturing and working with UK retailers in a manufacturing environment.
Additionally, you will need to have a flexible can-do attitude as you may be required to work in other areas or undergo training as necessary.

**Job Description**
The Quality Control Inspector will ensure that all Quality standards are achieved for both manufactured and purchased products. Providing the final point of inspection for the products and maintaining reports and performance metrics. Raising quality non-conformance reports (NCR) and supporting the problem resolution process, including Containment, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective and Preventative Actions.
The candidate must possess the ability to solve simple problems, provide operable solutions, act with minimal direction on their own initiative.
The candidate will work within the current quality team reporting directly to the UK Quality Leader
**Responsibilities:**
+ Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
+ Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production.
+ Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
+ Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into quality database (SAP).
+ Keeps measurement equipment operating and manages calibration systems.
+ Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
+ Auditing manufacturing processes where required.
+ Completing Non-Conforming Reports with root cause analysis.
+ To work closely with production personnel carrying out first off, final, and random inspections using CMM and FARO Mechanical inspection equipment
+ Provide training and guidance to inspect using best practice.
**Qualifications and Experience Levels:**
+ Proven experience as quality inspector or relevant role.
+ A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
+ Familiarity with quality measurement equipment - CMM, FARO -Laser and Arm
+ Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and inspection methodologies electrical and mechanical.
+ Working knowledge of MS Office.
+ Ability to obtain UK security clearance to SC level.
