This role serves as a senior member of the Labs BU management team and acts as the first-line deputy to the Director, with full delegated responsibility. Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:

• Degree educated or similar attainment level demonstrated through experience.

• Proven track record in delivering complex scientific projects involving multiple stakeholders e.g. orderbook balancing, throughput considerations, risk/opportunity exploitation, balance of investment preparation, investment justification, tasking, performance reporting, technology, information, governance and people/organisation.

• Good technical knowledge of domains relevant to the Labs BU, e.g. materials, chemistry, physics, experimental science, etc.

• Experience in establishing and maintaining effective governance, risk management, and reporting mechanisms for a large-scale programme or work.

• Experience in managing the budget and resources ensuring value for money and return on investment.

• Experience in building and maintaining strong and positive relationships with senior leadership, programme sponsors, customers, regulators, and other external partners, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and engagement.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience

- Experience in database (eg. SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis)

- Experience in consulting, design and implementation of serverless distributed solutions

- Experience in software development with object oriented language

Preferred Qualifications

- AWS experience preferred, with proficiency in a wide range of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation)

- AWS Professional level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) preferred
