What you will do
As a Commercial Gas Engineer , you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of a wide range of commercial gas appliances and systems. This includes:
Unvented and instantaneous water heaters
Domestic and commercial boilers
Direct and indirect fired hot air heaters
Gas safety checks on appliances and pipework installations
Ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards
You will act as the primary technical contact for our clients, delivering reliable and efficient service while upholding our commitment to safety and quality.
What We’re Looking For
Proven hands-on experience in commercial gas service and breakdown
Proven experience working on a wide variety of boilers across commercial, industrial, and domestic environments
Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial gas service, breakdown, or installation
Essential trade qualifications:
COCN1, ICPN1, TPCP1 & TPCP1A, CIGA1, COMCAT
CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CCCN1, CORT1, CPA1, HTR1, HWSS-R, DAH1, LPG
J01 – desirable
F-GAS 2079 certification – preferred but not essential
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region
Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety and customer service

Our client are experts within Social Housing and are looking for an experienced Gas Engineer to join their team based in Birmingham on a long term temporary contract and perform planned central heating installations and gas maintenance services for properties in their Birmingham contract.
The pay rate for this Gas Engineer role is 25PH CIS and you will be working 40 hours per week with overtime and call out available.
This role also comes with a van and fuel card.
Gas Engineer responsibilities will include:
- Day to day repairs/maintenance, short duration service, renewal or refurbishment works to properties and void properties.
- Carry out fault diagnosis and communicate additional works required back to your Supervisor/Line Manager.
- Take ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters.
- Operate within company Health and Safety guidelines and remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas.

Domestic Gas Engineers required for servicing and breakdown work on domestic properties. This large organisation is interested in qualified, experienced gas engineers that can commit to a full working week Mon-Fri 8am-5pm as PAYE employed. There are also other opportunities to earn extra through O/T and call out if requested but average earnings are 42-45k on a normal 8 hour day.
