The Rating team at WSP GL Hearn is a highly skilled and specialised group dedicated to providing exceptional rating and valuation services to clients in the commercial real estate sector. With an in-depth understanding of the complex rating landscape, our team combines extensive industry knowledge with strategic insights to deliver accurate and insightful assessments.

The purpose of the role is to inspect and measure properties to ensure accuracy of the data held by the Scottish Assessors.
The role will involve:
+ Surveying various property types throughout Scotland.
+ Inspecting, measuring and checking factual details for each property, and providing key information which will be used for a "Proposal" submission to the relevant Assessor.
+ Completing proformas of measurements and providing photographs and drawings of the properties.
+ Writing up referencing notes.
+ Recording, updating and maintaining the team's IT systems with details of surveys.
You will work within the Business Rates Team, but will require independent working out on site and in our network of offices. Work may be office-based or home-based subject to appropriate Health & Safety audits as required.

You are a proficient property referencer with experience of inspection and measurement, who can demonstrate a high level of organisation and collaboration with senior staff, and who demonstrates the desire to constantly improve business data and support others to achieve that goal.

You will be a Building Surveyor with relevant experience gained in a similar practice. You will be joining a small dedicated team involved in a mix of professional and project-based surveying work with direct exposure to a wide cross section of internal and external clients and sectors. + Key account management responsibility and develop excellent relations and contacts both internally and externally with Real Estate's clients.
+ Identify streams of work and cross selling opportunities.
