YOUR ROLE
CEVA Logistics are seeking a MHE Trainer to deliver, assess and maintain high standards of training for all Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) operators on site at East Midlands Gateway.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, compliant and efficient MHE operations, supporting a strong safety culture, audit readiness and operational performance within a fast‑paced e‑commerce warehouse environment.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
As an MHE Trainer, you will design and deliver engaging practical and theoretical training for a range of equipment, including counterbalance and reach trucks, PPT, LLOP, VNA and clamp trucks, ensuring all operators meet required competency standards.You will conduct assessments, issue and manage operator authorisations, and support new starters through MHE familiarisation and onboarding training. You will also lead refresher and re‑certification programmes to ensure ongoing compliance and capability across the workforce.
You will ensure all training activities align with UK legislation (including PUWER, LOLER and HSE guidance), site procedures, and Amazon customer requirements. This includes promoting a strong safety‑first culture, investigating incidents or near misses, and delivering corrective training where required.You will monitor operator performance on the warehouse floor, provide coaching and feedback, and identify gaps through data, incidents or customer feedback — contributing to continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity.
The role also involves maintaining accurate training records, competency matrices and audit‑ready documentation, as well as working closely with Operations, Planning and Health & Safety teams to align training delivery with operational demand.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The ideal candidate will hold an accredited MHE Instructor qualification (such as RTITB, ITSSAR or equivalent) and have proven experience delivering MHE training within a warehouse or distribution environment.
You will have a strong understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work, alongside excellent organisational skills and attention to detail when managing training records and compliance requirements. Confident trainer and facilitator, able to engage mixed‑ability groups and coach colleagues effectively on the job. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to challenge unsafe behaviours in a professional and constructive manner.Experience working within a customer‑led or contract logistics environment would be advantageous, as would flexibility to support multiple shifts and operational requirements.

CEVA Logistics has been awarded a major new contract with a high-profile client, marking an exciting phase of growth for the business expanding on our ecommerce offering. This is a new build implementation offering exciting opportunities across contract logistics.
As a result, we have an exciting opportunity for Outbound Shift Managers who will take full responsibility for the execution of outbound activities across your assigned shift. You will lead a safe, efficient and high‑performing outbound operation within a fast‑paced ecommerce operation.
This is a critical leadership role, responsible for protecting customer service, network flow and dispatch performance through strong operational control, visible leadership and right‑first‑time execution.
Fixed AM and PM shifts available:
- Tuesday to Saturday, 6am to 2pm
- Tuesday to Saturday, 2pm to 10pm
Reporting into Outbound Operations Manager, you will have full accountability for outbound execution on your assigned shift, leading teams to deliver picking, sorting, loading and dispatch activities in line with the operational plan, service cut‑off times and quality standards with key focuses on;
- Lead all outbound activity during the shift, from pick to load and dispatch
- Ensuring volumes are processed and dispatched on time to service commitments
- Act as the first point of escalation for shift‑level service, safety or quality issues
- Champion a strong safety‑first culture and ensuring compliance with H&S, SSOW and client standards
- Lead, coach and engage Team Leaders and outbound associates
- Manage labour deployment and agency usage within agreed plans
- Monitor real‑time performance and dynamically redeploying resources to protect service
- Lead effective shift handovers, reporting risks, priorities and backlogs clearly
- Drive productivity, throughput and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the Outbound Operations Manager with any additional tasks as and when required.
To be successful in your application you will have proven experience of managing or supervising a team, ideally within a fast‑paced, shift‑based warehousing or ecommerce environment. You will have a strong understanding of outbound, dispatch, picking and sortation operations with a proven track record of delivering against safety, quality and productivity targets, and knowledgeable in delivering improvements, with an understanding of LEAN and continuous improvement methods utilised in an operational setting.
You will be a confident and visible leader with excellent communication skills, able to remain calm and decisive under pressurised, high volume, and time critical situations.
It would be desirable, however not essential if you have proven site start up, peak or ramp‑up operational experience.

We have an exciting opportunity for a field‑based Business Development Manager to join our Air & Ocean Freight sales team at CEVA Logistics. This hunter‑led role will focus primarily on winning new business, with additional responsibility for developing and growing a portfolio of existing customers.
You’ll be at the forefront of CEVA’s growth strategy, identifying, targeting and securing new air and ocean freight opportunities within the SME and mid‑market space, while working closely with our operational and solutions teams to deliver long‑term, sustainable customer partnerships.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Head of Business Development, you focus on:
- Proactively identifying, targeting and winning new air and ocean freight business through a consultative, solutions‑based sales approach.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities through strategic account planning and targeted prospecting.
- Developing compelling value propositions and negotiate at senior decisionmaker level.
- Drive RFQs and tender processes from initial opportunity through to successful implementation.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to deliver customer solutions.
- Grow and retain an existing book of business to maximise long‑term revenue and customer value.
- Maintain high levels of sales activity and accurately record activity within CRM systems.
- Identify cross‑selling opportunities across the organisation.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application you will have a proven track record of new business sales within an air and ocean freight forwarding environment, with strong knowledge of international freight solutions, pricing structures and trade lanes and the ability to design and deliver compelling value propositions.

What you will doReporting to the Ocean Import Supervisor, you will play a key role in managing end‑to‑end ocean import shipments, ensuring a smooth and efficient process from booking through to final delivery. You will take ownership of both FCL and LCL shipments, coordinating closely with customers, suppliers and overseas colleagues to maintain full visibility and control throughout the shipment lifecycle.
You will prepare and review import documentation, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with all relevant regulations. You will also be responsible for submitting customs instructions in a timely manner, supporting the clearance process and avoiding delays. Alongside this, you will monitor shipment progress using internal systems, proactively identifying and resolving any issues to deliver a seamless customer experience. Acting as the main point of contact for your allocated customers, you will handle queries, requests, claims and complaints with a solutions‑focused approach, always aiming to deliver excellent service and maintain strong relationships. You will also take responsibility for cost control, checking and managing charges to ensure financial accuracy, while arranging onward transport and coordinating final delivery. You will contribute to maintaining high operational standards by communicating effectively across teams and may be involved in continuous improvement initiatives or projects that support service excellence within the wider ocean operations function.
What we are looking forOur ideal candidate will bring solid experience in ocean imports, with a strong understanding of end‑to‑end shipment processes. You will be comfortable working in a fast‑paced ocean or multimodal environment and confident managing multiple priorities. You will be a strong communicator, capable of building effective relationships both internally and externally, and delivering a high standard of customer service. You will be a proactive problem solver with a logical approach, able to prioritise your workload while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency. Being a collaborative team player is essential, alongside the ability to work independently when required. Experience with Cargowise would be advantageous, although this is not essential. Ideally, you will hold a recognised qualification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile, or Six Sigma and have a solid understanding of project delivery, supply‑chain operations, financial performance, and operational reporting. You will be highly analytical, with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to turn data into practical business solutions. Strong Microsoft Office and reporting system skills are required.
