Key Duties:

• Preparation of manufacturing cost estimates and pricing quotations in support of new business opportunities.
• Performing assessments of customer tender specifications and associated documents.
• Generating detailed costings and work scope documents.
• Providing ongoing support to the sales team through the provision of cost and technical data.
• Playing a significant role in the preparation of strategic tenders.
• Management of complete responses to requests for quotations including the development of programme plans, responses to terms and conditions and price proposals.
• Communicating directly with customers to ensure request for quotation requirements are managed effectively and within required timescales.

Key Requirements:

• Ideally have experience in precision engineering and or welding with knowledge of at least one of the following market sectors, subsea oil & gas, industrial gas turbines, nuclear or defence.
• Have a good knowledge of manufacturing methods, tooling and fixtures and cycle times. An engineering qualification or relevant hands-on experience would be an advantage.
• Be able to convert manufacturing cycle time data into cost estimates via our estimating system.
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills and be experienced in developing and maintaining relationships.
• To be able to work as part of a team or as an individual within the required timescales.
• Be comfortable in a customer facing role and able to discuss and close out potential orders with customers.

Baltic Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking an innovative engineer to lead product development solutions based in Newton Aycliffe. This role requires a strong understanding of thermoplastic extrusion processes and aims to foster collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in polymer engineering or a related field, alongside pretentious design and prototyping skills. An attractive package includes a salary of £45,000 per annum and a salary sacrifice pension scheme.

Key Duties

• Design solutions for new products development within the given framework of all on site development.
• Provide expert assistance on thermoplastic extrusion, including promoting the technology and performing specific project responsibilities.
• Lead trials, mainly in extrusion, in support of customers and internal development works, creating prototypes, analysing test data and documenting results in test reports.
• Foster strong collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure integration of innovation initiatives and product development process.
• Act as project leader on new product development, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and following new product development from concept to production release.
• Stay up to date with advancements in material technology and industry trends and incorporate new technologies into the production process as appropriate, ensuring material choice meets environmental, mechanical and performance requirements.

• Validate new designs, processes and materials through testing, experimentation and evaluation.

Working on a range of vehicles, including prestigious brands such as Porsche, Aston Martin, and Mercedes-Benz, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality panel repairs and replacements to manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out high-quality panel repairs and replacements on a wide range of vehicles, including prestige marques such as Porsche, Aston Martin and Mercedes-Benz.
• Assess vehicle damage and determine the most effective repair methods while adhering to manufacturer repair standards.
• Remove, repair and refit damaged body panels, ensuring vehicles are restored to pre-accident condition.
• Undertake structural and cosmetic repairs using approved techniques, tooling and equipment.
• Work with steel and aluminium vehicle bodies, maintaining manufacturer-approved repair procedures where required.
• Ensure all repairs meet quality, safety and compliance standards before vehicles progress through the repair process.
• Collaborate effectively with painters, estimators and workshop colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.

Key Requirment

• Previous experience as a Panel Beater / Panel Technician within an accident repair or bodyshop environment.
• Proven ability to carry out both minor and major accident damage repairs to a high standard.
• Experience working on prestige and manufacturer-approved vehicle repairs is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of modern repair techniques, panel replacement and alignment procedures.
• Experience with aluminium repairs would be advantageous.
• Ability to interpret repair methods and follow manufacturer specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering first-class workmanship.

The Package:

• Scope of pay £40K - £50K, with overtime on a saturday pay can be £60K+

• Regular over time on Saturday from 8am - 12pm
