The Role

As a Broker in our Professional Services division, you will be responsible for providing exceptional input to team meetings, sharing valuable observations from the market, and effectively resolving client issues.

What you'll do
  • Your role will involve planning work activities to achieve team objectives and meet agreed targets, ensuring flawless project management and contributing to other projects as required.
  • You will review submissions to ensure comprehensive and accurate information is presented to the market, while devising placing strategies and identifying effective product layering to meet client demands and needs.
  • Working with underwriters to place insurance that balances quality, coverage, and price will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will review wordings and gather market intelligence to ensure our product offering remains up to date and relevant.
  • Developing strong relationships with markets and providing broking guidance and support for junior team members will be vital to your success. You will also respond to market and third-party queries as appropriate, while maintaining up-to-date records on the company's systems and adhering strictly to company procedures and compliance requirements for documentation and communication.

  • Attainment of the LLMIT (the Lloyd's and London Market Introductory Test), where relevant to the role, indicating your comprehensive understanding of the London insurance market.
  • Working towards or having attained ACII (desirable but not crucial), showcasing your commitment to professional development and industry knowledge.

The Role

We've got an exciting opportunity to join us as our Senior Account Executive, to help drive our business forward with new engagements and existing clients alike.

As part of your role, you will have the important task of connecting with retail clients and in particular a focus on working with various teams within the Specialty Division to present at RFPs and win new clients for the group, including ensuring all the needs for new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments are completely understood and addressed. The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Infrastructure Lead to join our growing Insurance Due Diligence (IDD) team. This role is pivotal in shaping and expanding our infrastructure advisory capabilities, mentoring junior team members, and driving business development initiatives across the infrastructure M&A sector.

What you'll do
  • Lead the development and delivery of IDD services across infrastructure sectors including energy, transport, healthcare, education, and social housing.
  • Collaborate with specialist teams (e.g. Construction, Energy, Real Estate, Financial Lines) to deliver comprehensive risk and insurance advisory solutions.
  • Develop and refine methodologies for infrastructure IDD reporting, ensuring consistency, quality, and commercial insight.
Client Delivery
  • Write and deliver IDD reports, including detailed review of insurance documentation, claims analysis, and risk profiling.
  • Engage with clients to understand transaction structures and tailor IDD scope accordingly.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting aligned with transaction timelines and client expectations.
  • Portfolio management / developing our offering for PE backed firms.
Business Development
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the infrastructure M&A space.
  • Support pitch development and client proposals, leveraging Howden’s infrastructure credentials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including infrastructure and private equity funds, asset managers, and corporates.
Training & Development
  • Design and implement structured training programmes for junior members of the team, focusing on IDD fundamentals, sector-specific risks, and client engagement.

  • Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to internal learning resources.
Who we're looking for

The role

This role acts as a key liaison between clients and insurers, ensuring that claims are handled efficiently, accurately, and in line with regulatory standards.
