How You Will Make An Impact
  • Lead the full lifecycle of QC laboratory equipment and analytical instruments, from selection and qualification through to maintenance, review, and decommissioning.
  • Drive compliance and inspection readiness by ensuring equipment, documentation, and laboratory practices consistently meet GMP, regulatory, and internal quality standards.
  • Coordinate qualification, calibration, maintenance, and CSV activities, ensuring systems remain reliable, validated, and fit for purpose.
  • Produce and maintain clear, accurate, audit-ready documentation, while supporting deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and data integrity requirements in line with ALCOA+ principles.
  • Partner effectively across QC, QA, Engineering, Validation, IT, and external vendors to support method transfers, new product introduction, and wider laboratory improvements.
  • Bring a proactive, detail-focused mindset to identifying anomalies, solving problems, improving workflows, and delivering high-quality analytical support in a fast-paced regulated environment.
What We Are Looking For
  • Degree-qualified in a science discipline, or holding a Level 4 qualification, with relevant hands‑on QC laboratory experience.
  • Confident using core analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, and balances.
  • Strong grounding in GLP, with a disciplined approach to compliance, accuracy, and procedural rigour.
  • Highly detail-focused, with the ability to follow written methods precisely and maintain consistently reliable records.
  • Skilled in data analysis, with experience using LIMS and Excel to interpret results and support sound decision-making.

About The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and detail-oriented Financial Accountant (ACA ICAEW qualified) to join a high-performing finance function. Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you will be part of a small team of qualified accountants, working closely with senior finance stakeholders across the business.

The role offers significant exposure to both Group and local reporting, with a strong focus on delivering accurate and timely financial information. You will play a key role in month-end and year-end close processes, statutory reporting, and maintaining a robust internal control environment.

Beyond core reporting responsibilities, you will act as a key point of contact for external auditors and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes. This is a role that combines technical expertise with business partnering, offering the opportunity to influence and enhance financial operations within a growing organisation.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Meeting Group month-end reporting requirements, including submission and analysis of monthly results to the German parent company (STADA), as well as managing and controlling general and admin expense cost centres.
  • Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and analysis, driving the audit process and coordinating audit deliverables. This includes preparation of year-end stat packs and ensuring efficiencies and learnings from previous audits are implemented.
  • Management of external financial audits, including statutory year-end audits, alongside non-statutory engagements (Department of Health, MHRA etc.).
  • Maintenance of a strong internal control environment, working with finance colleagues and stakeholders to ensure robust procedures and controls are in place and adhered to.
  • Control of the balance sheet, including ownership, preparation, and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts in line with both Group IFRS and local FRS 101 reporting.
  • Supporting the FP&A team during budget and forecast processes
  • Completion and delivery of external reporting and returns, including VPAG and ONS
  • Ownership and responsibility for CAPEX, Fixed Assets, and Assets Under Construction (AUC) in line with Group IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Ownership and responsibility for lease accounting under IFRS 16.
  • Ownership of ledgers for subsidiary companies and monthly reconciliations for local accounting to SAP ledgers.
  • Ad hoc support and project work across the wider Finance team to ensure overall team deliverables are achieved.

  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage competing priorities to meet tight deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and analysis, driving the audit process and coordinating audit deliverables. This includes preparation of year-end stat packs and ensuring efficiencies and learnings from previous audits are implemented.
Management of external financial audits, including statutory year-end audits, alongside non-statutory engagements (Department of Health, MHRA etc.).
Maintenance of a strong internal control environment, working with finance colleagues and stakeholders to ensure robust procedures and controls are in place and adhered to.
Control of the balance sheet, including ownership, preparation, and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts in line with both Group IFRS and local FRS 101 reporting.
Supporting the FP&A team during budget and forecast processes
Completion and delivery of external reporting and returns, including VPAG and ONS
Ownership and responsibility for CAPEX, Fixed Assets, and Assets Under Construction (AUC) in line with Group IFRS and local GAAP.
Ownership and responsibility for lease accounting under IFRS 16.
Ownership of ledgers for subsidiary companies and monthly reconciliations for local accounting to SAP ledgers.
Ad hoc support and project work across the wider Finance team to ensure overall team deliverables are achieved.

We are seeking a proactive and technically capable finance professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and can balance accuracy with efficiency.
ACA ICAEW qualified with at least 2 years post-qualified experience (PQE)
Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 101)
Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate financial data clearly
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage competing priorities to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, using initiative to solve problems and drive improvements
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems, along with prior involvement in audit processes and statutory reporting, would be advantageous.
