Job Description

HCL's Microsoft Business Applications Practice (MBAP) is seeking to hire a Senior Project Manager to join our award-winning and growing team.

The Microsoft D365 Senior Project Manager will act as the senior liaison between customer and internal teams on Microsoft Dynamics 365 projects (implementations, customizations, migrations, and more).

You may be responsible for one or more aspects of the project including project management, business analysis, configuration, data, training and support.

The ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented, have the ability to multitask, be meticulously organized, and be able to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions
  • Lead and manage mid-sized to enterprise projects independently
  • Participate in design and architecture sessions with clients
  • Gather and document business processes (some current state, mostly future state)
  • Advise customers on best practices for CRM processes, user interface, and architecture
  • Assist technical consultants with architecting Dynamics 365 CRM or xRM system, related customizations, and reports to model the client’s organizational processes
  • Assist in developing project budget, and ensure work is completed on-track and within budget
  • Write specifications for customizations, data migration, and system integrations
  • Facilitate team resources in the implementation of data migration and translation, data integration, training and custom development, and reports
  • Configure and customize the Dynamics CRM/365 system based on design specifications
  • Coordinate with overseas team on custom development, complex customizations and portals
  • Develop test plans and scripts
  • Conduct system and end-to-end testing of the application
  • Schedule work to be done and follows up to ensure completion within the project schedule
  • Guide the project along through daily communications with the customer
  • Conduct at least a weekly status meetings (may be more) and sends weekly status updates
  • Conduct design review sessions with the customer to demonstrate completed work and gather adjustments and changes
Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience in D365 Sales, Service and CCAS
  • Master’s Degree in business, finance, or computer science related field or Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or computer science related field and 4-5 years’ experience
  • Experience of PRINCE 2 / AGILE Project Management or other similar methodology
  • Up-to-date understanding of business processes, issues, and technology especially related to the operation of a sales, marketing, and customer service departments within an organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Feels comfortable talking with clients at all levels of within an organization.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Visio

  • Client Engagement and Consultation : Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements, data challenges, and objectives. Provide expert guidance on leveraging Microsoft Fabric to achieve their goals.
  • Solution Design : Lead the design and architecture of end-to-end data solutions that integrate Microsoft Fabric components such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Power BI, and other relevant technologies.
  • Implementation and Deployment : Oversee the implementation and deployment of data solutions, ensuring they align with best practices and industry standards. Work closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration and performance optimization.
  • Data Modelling and Integration : Design and implement data models, data pipelines, and integration strategies to ensure robust data flow and accessibility across various systems and platforms.
  • Performance Tuning and Technical Optimization : Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring high availability, scalability, and efficiency of data solutions.
  • Security and Compliance : Ensure that data solutions adhere to security and compliance standards, including data privacy regulations and organizational policies.
  • Technical Leadership : Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Project Management : Lead and manage data projects, including scoping, planning, resource allocation, and risk management. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Client Training and Support : Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to clients, enabling them to effectively utilize the implemented data solutions.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • 7-10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies or other market leading technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in data modelling, ETL processes, data integration, SQL, and data warehousing concepts with a strong understanding of cloud computing, real time data and data security best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Experience in managing data projects, including project scoping, planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600), Implementing Data Engineering Solutions Using Microsoft Fabric (DP-700). Those without the Fabric specific certifications would be expected to pass those certifications within the probation period.

An exciting opportunity to join a well-established international manufacturing and technology business as it expands its internal IT function. With operations spanning multiple regions and a strong presence across both B2B and consumer markets, the company is undertaking a significant digital transformation to modernise core systems and support future growth.

This role offers the chance for a Microsoft Dynamics 365 specialist to become part of a forward-thinking organisation that blends longstanding industry expertise with a progressive approach. You’ll play a key role in delivering scalable, high-impact solutions across finance, operations, and supply chain functions.

The Role

You’ll join a collaborative and well-established technology team focused on optimising and evolving the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform. The role offers the chance to work across the full software lifecycle from requirement gathering and design through to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions (primarily Finance & Operations)
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs and enhancements
  • Work closely with stakeholders across IT, finance, supply chain and commercial functions
  • Monitor system performance and deliver ongoing improvements and bug fixes
  • Integrate Dynamics with other business systems and third-party applications
  • Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to deliver project milestones
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and documentation processes

About You:

  • Proven experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, ideally in a mid-to-senior technical role
  • Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O)
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse)
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of data migration, system integration and solution architecture
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Exposure to Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) or CRM modules
  • Experience in manufacturing or supply chain environments
  • Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365 or Power Platform technologies
