The Homes Safeguarding Officer will work closely with the Homes Managers and others to ensure that their practice is robust and defensible in relation to safeguarding. They will also support Homes Managers to develop a robust safeguarding culture within their homes. You will work with the Head of Safeguarding to support homes and ensure compliance in accordance with safeguarding and wider legislation and in the development and delivery of training for DSL's and home based staff. You will contribute to effective partnership working between different teams and departments within Witherslack Group.
You will provide day-to-day advice and guidance to Homes Managers and others in relation to safeguarding cases and undertake safeguarding audits in homes to ensure compliance within current frameworks and ensure that safeguarding concerns are managed in line with Local Safeguarding Partnership procedures and thresholds and that record keeping is robust and in line with best practice
You will be required to manage safeguarding data and produce safeguarding data reports as required.To be successful for this role you will at least 5 years' experience of working in a role where managing and dealing with safeguarding cases relating to children and young people was a key responsibility, ideally in a children's home.

About the role
In this role as an NPD Executive, you will act as a Junior Project Manager leading all our Factory and Embellishment NPDs and EPDs (Existing Product Development), along with our Marketing/Commercial Teams, to ensure all projects are launched on time.
Your responsibilities
New NPD Projects Factory and Embellishment
- Work with UK Marketing, Global Marketing and Trade Marketing to identify new product opportunities for the UK and UK Embellishment
- Project manage Factory and Embellishment NPDs and EPDs from start to finish
- Lead the packaging development with packaging suppliers and production partners to ensure the new products are designed optimally for cost and manufacturing
- Create Critical Paths/Project Management timelines for all NPDs and ensure all stakeholders are aware of their responsibilities and accountabilities.
- Ensure that the NPD is in stock prior to first customer orders to ensure 100% service on NPDs.
- Ensure that the first production plans for Embellishment NPD’s and promotional units are aligned to business needs and alongside the ongoing embellishment planner to ensure stock is available when required
- Lead Factory and UK Marketing calls to discuss ongoing projects and detail next steps and actions.
- Coordinate tests and trials for new embellishment products including transit testing
- Approve OAS (Online Approval System) for all projects
Promotional Units
- In conjunction with the POS team and key partners, lead the development and implementation of all promotional units
- Work with key partners in the sales and supply teams to design and manufacture promotional units including optimizing loadups, refining assemblies, and maintaining production standards
- Ensure the on-time production and delivery of finished goods back into the warehouse
New Copacker (3rd Party) Projects
- Work with UK Marketing, External Manufacturing Team and Procurement to brief new product opportunities for the UK
- Along with Procurement, ensure the most cost effective Copacker is used to create the NPD
Product Lifecycle Management
- Working with the Planning team, ensuring we have a 'healthy' Health Portfolio of SKUs
- Ensuring all NPD briefs meet the required KPls before accepting the project.
- Communicate all EPDs to the Demand Planning Team to ensure smooth run out of packaging components to avoid any write off
Packaging
- Lead all new packaging development and pack optimization for embellishment, both existing and new SKUs
- Drive cost savings across the packaging portfolio
- Manage all packaging suppliers including artworks, cutter guides, and quality standards
- Raise purchase orders for tooling and ad-hoc packaging purchases
Master data
- Approve new SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) creations in the system and ensure all project comments included are correct before proceeding.
- Work with the master data teams to ensure consistency in data across all systems and ensure errors are corrected as required.
- Populate and gain approval for the packaging assembly methods (PAM’s) required for new embellishment SKU’s
Continuous improvement
- Identifying opportunities for improvement across the portfolio including Sourcing Studies, GM (Gross Margin) Savings, and operational process improvements
- Driving key continuous improvement projects from ideation to completion.
