Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday – Friday normal hours between 08:00 – 16:30 (This role will involve working away from home at sites across the UK and Ireland)

The Job

Interpreting involves listening to, understanding and memorizing content in the original ‘source’ language, then reproducing the speech into the ‘target’ language with 100% accuracy.

You will:

• Interpret for people using legal, health and local government services
• Check the non-English speakers understanding after each sentence
• Conference, consecutive and public service interpreting
• Dealing with highly confidential information
• Liaise between the service user and service provider

Requirements

• Fluent in English and another language
• All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
• You must be aged 21 or over
• Formal qualifications such as:
  • Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
  • Community Interpreting
  • NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered is advantageous
  • Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
  • Any other interpreting related qualification

You will be part of our successful swim school team, teaching either in a group or individual lessons. You will need to have a passion for swimming and teaching ensuring that excellent customer service is being delivered at all times. You must be able to communicate and deliver a swimming lesson in Welsh. The candidate must hold a Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualifications however the relevant full training will be provided to the most suitable candidate. This post is subject to a DBS check.

• To teach swimming to children and/or adults as part of the Leisure Centre’s swimming lesson programme, according to qualification, training and experience
• To communicate with the children’s parents/guardians concerning their development, and advise on their progression through the programme
• To assist in the supervision of customers in the swimming pool and surrounds, ensuring their safety and discipline
• Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers.
• An ability to deal with children and their parents
• Level 2 swimming teaching qualification is desirable
• DBS check
