About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you’ll play a key role in shaping a high-quality, personalised learning journey for every student. This is a hands-on teaching role with a strong emphasis on emotional intelligence, creativity, and multi-disciplinary collaboration. You will be supported by the Headteacher and work closely with education and care colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for each learner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to individuals and small groups, in line with our curriculum and school policies
  • Monitor and report on student progress through assessments and personalised learning plans
  • Develop and review IEPs, IBPs, and other individualised support documents with input from the wider team
  • Coordinate teaching, assessment, and reporting across key stages
  • Create a stimulating classroom environment that supports learning, independence, and engagement
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, and the senior leadership team
  • Ensure student safety at all times, including during off-site activities
  • Provide clear guidance and direction to Learning Support Assistants and other staff members

Requirements

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience teaching students with autism and/or special educational needs
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to differentiate lessons and engage students with varying levels of ability and need
  • Passionate about inclusive education and student-centred learning
