About the Role

The PSHCE/SRE Lead Teacher can be summarised as follows:

  • To model the college values of ‘Love, Commitment and Opportunity’ consistently on a daily basis
  • To deliver highly effective teaching and learning to the post 16 students in your sessions ensuring that it is appropriate, relevant and meets statutory requirements consistent with the individual needs of each student and to facilitate the very best outcomes for all
  • To support and facilitate the implementation of the college’s policies

Key Responsibilities

  • A general teaching commitment, including leading on PSHCE and SRE
  • Teaching any student at Heath Farm College
  • To plan and deliver schemes of work for the students in your sessions that is in keeping with the statutory requirements relating to individual students and college policies
  • Responsibility for the assessment, recording and reporting of all students in your sessions and tutorials
  • To ensure that each student in your tutorial group has a Student Learner Profile which is relevant, appropriate, up to date and consistent with any statutory requirements

You will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure that the curriculum not only fosters academic achievement but also promotes emotional resilience, personal growth, and lifelong learning.

With a 50% teaching commitment, you will lead by example, delivering outstanding, trauma-informed teaching that adapts to the complex needs of SEMH pupils. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a passionate and visionary Senior Teacher - Vocational Curriculum to join the senior leadership team at Bricklehurst Manor School, a brand-new specialist provision dedicated to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Teacher to lead our Vocational Curriculum, with a 50% teaching load, to help design and deliver practical, engaging pathways that support our students’ holistic development and prepare them for life beyond school. You will:

  • Strategically develop and manage a high-quality vocational curriculum tailored to students with SEMH needs.
  • Oversee all vocational pathways ensuring they lead to meaningful accreditation and real-world opportunities.
  • Line-manage vocational staff and build partnerships with employers, colleges, and community organisations.
  • Manage budgets and resources to keep practical learning equipment up-to-date.
  • Act as Quality Nominee for vocational qualifications, ensuring compliance and high standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience delivering and managing vocational qualifications—ideally in special education or alternative provision settings.
  • Strong background working with SEMH students or those with challenging behaviours.
  • Experience managing budgets, resources, and external partnerships.
  • Deep vocational knowledge with passion for practical skills-based education.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and resilience.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Bricklehurst Manor School is a brand-new school that will cater for up to 60 pupils with SEMH and associated needs ages 11-16. The PSHCE/SRE Lead Teacher can be summarised as follows:
