We are seeking  experienced Data Engineers to join our growing  team within a large, long-standing public-sector partnership. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to data acquisition, preparation and management projects, helping to modernise services and deliver secure, reliable data products at scale.

Your role

•    Design and implement robust, secure and performant data integration solutions (batch and/or near-real-time).

•    Collaborate with product teams and client stakeholders to refine requirements and align decisions to NFRs (cost, performance, security).
•    Support incident resolution and ensure service continuity.

Your skills and experience

•    Strong SQL and hands-on experience with data modelling.
•    Hands-on with ETL/ELT tooling (at least one of Talend, Pentaho DI, Informatica, AWS Glue, or SAS).
•    Experience with databases/data platforms (ideally Oracle or Cloudera).
•    Knowledge of cloud platforms (ideally AWS).
•    Good experience with programming/scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash).
•    Strong grasp of data engineering fundamentals, including integration, transformation, orchestration, and version control.
•    Excellent client-facing and consultancy skills.

This role is only available to be based in our office in Telford or Worthing. As such you will need to be based within a commutable distance to your chosen office where you should expect to typically be in our office 3 days a week. This specific role is not available to be based in any other UK office`s, but other opportunities on our website have more flexibility on locations.

Your role

On joining, you will be assigned to start in one of the roles outlined below. As your career progresses, there will be opportunity to rotate across these roles to support with your development of abroad set of skills and exposure to different parts of the business. 


Programme Management Office (PMO) Project Analyst - Working alongside one or more Project Manager(s), delivering the monitoring, control, and management of project finances, resource capacity planning and utilization, on and offboarding, risks and issues, change management, and project planning. 


Service Analyst (SA) – You will be working within a Service team, focusing on the performance and achievement of Service Level Agreement’s for Services into the client. This includes the management and trending of incident, problems, changes, and continual improvements, whilst driving compliance, and collaborating with technical teams to deliver the agreed availability, performance, and obligations of the Services. 


Business Operation Analyst (BOA) - Supporting the day-to-day operational activities of our business, including finances, communications plan, calendar and mailbox management and resource planning. You will have opportunity to work with leadership teams across the business. 


You will receive significant role-based training and coaching to ensure technical growth that kick starts your career and sets you up for #GetTheFutureYouWant at Capgemini. You will also be offered the opportunity to train towards professional certification.

Your role

You’ll be part of the team that delivers and transforms our client’s existing technology services and creates brand-new services. You will want to put the client experience first. Your UX degree is relevant to your role, and you will get the chance to rotate into user experience, interaction design, and content design roles during your degree, which enables you to specialist in what interests you. This mix and the role you’ll play in delivering new solutions to our client makes this a unique and exciting opportunity, you’ll be understanding and contributing to the complexities of how our services are designed from a user-centric approach.   

•     User Researcher  – use different techniques to find out user’s needs, motivations and pain points, to use when informing designers of that service. You’ll interview users, create detailed plans, find compelling insights, understand data, facilitate workshops and present findings. Everything you do will be valued by our designers.   

•    Interaction Designers   – develop and understand what users do and perform and help design a service that allows them to do that, creating exceptional end-to-end digital journeys using the latest technology and techniques.  

•    Content Designers  – making sure the right information is on hand when users need it, understanding and exploring data to identify users’ behaviours, helping to create the best end to end experience for users.  

Your skills and experience

To be eligible, you need: 

7 GCSEs A*-C including Maths and English (4-9) or equivalent 

Plus, one of the folowing:

• Completed a L3 Apprenticeship with relevant UX work experience in the industry

Your skills and experience

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, JavaScript).
  • Experience with database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Understanding of software testing and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of frameworks and development stacks (e.g., React, Angular, Django, MEAN).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git).
  • Awareness of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins).
  • Basic cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
