£24,940 (£12.79 per hour) plus benefits 

Full time 37.5 hours per week, working a variety of shifts Monday to Friday 8am-8pm - as part of this role, you’ll also be part of the on call rota

What you’ll do

• collect the deceased from a range of locations and scenarios in a professional and empathetic manner  

• bear coffins and drive funeral vehicles

• maintain the cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles  

• prepare coffins and engrave name plates 

• prepare the deceased in our care for viewings and the funeral  

This role would suit people who have

• a full UK manual driving licence  

• a sensitive approach to customer service with good attention to detail

• the ability to react calmly and compassionately in emotional circumstances  

• the ability to perform the physical aspects of the role (manual lifting)

• Electrical discipline technical input for projects and/or proposals; including preparation, checking and/or approval of engineering deliverables
• Organising discipline staff, allocating work and ensuring delivery against plan
• Mentoring and developing graduates and less experienced engineers
• Production of high-quality electrical engineering deliverables to schedule, budget and client satisfaction
• Ensuring all applicable national and international codes of practice, legislation and company/client standards and procedures are complied with
• Preparing equipment and materials requisitions for HV and LV switchboards, transformers, motors, UPS systems, power factor correction, earthing, trace-heating, lighting and other electrical equipment
• Preparing installation scopes of works
• Reviewing supplier's quotations and preparing technical bid assessments

• Protection grading studies and earthing calculations
• Power system analysis including fault level calculations and load flows
• HV and LV cable and equipment sizing
• Production of electrical equipment datasheets and specifications
• Commissioning support
• DNO engagement

• Degree in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electronic / Electrical / Control Engineering) Apprenticeships may be considered
• Chartered or Incorporated engineer
• Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements of the discipline across a range of industries.
• Significant engineering experience in the Oil & Gas, Nuclear and/or Water sectors
• Extensive knowledge of UK legislation and standards

• To manage delivery of studies in the early phases of project development, with accountability for the quality, budget and schedule.

• The role is to be based in Costain's Aberdeen Office and may require travel to company, supplier or customer offices or sites for business purposes. The company operates a dynamic working policy which offers the opportunity to work by agreement with the individual considering the needs of the project, client and business.

• First degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably in Chemical Engineering, but other discipline degrees will be considered along with the relevant experience
• Chartered Engineer preferred and the candidate should have more than 10 years' experience including significant experience of UK energy infrastructure, and facilities development, preferably in an engineering consultancy or contracting environment.
• Energy industry experience in UK regulatory environment
• Wide knowledge of processes and technologies employed in energy production, processing and in decarbonisation of industry and power generation
• Ability to frame problems, identify diverse options, and prepare robust evaluations to screen and select options, understanding and accounting for appropriate selection criteria
• Ability to guide team in developing solutions and preparing deliverables
• Awareness of process safety and environmental aspects of design
• Project capital and operating cost estimating, interfacing with estimating function
• Commercial awareness, including overall project execution strategies
