About the Role:

Working closely with experienced lawyers, the Employment Legal Administrator will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the team. The role will involve:

• Preparing court bundles and assisting with legal documentation
• Managing client files from opening to closing using ALB software
• Supporting client onboarding processes, including taking initial details, ID checks and sending client care letters
• Handling client calls, enquiries and diary management for upcoming hearings
• Assisting with billing, general administration and reception cover when needed
• Helping with business development by researching local networking opportunities and coordinating attendance
• Supporting internal initiatives such as staff training and team organisation

About You:

You will have:

• Previous experience in a legal assistant or secretarial role (though training will be given)
• Strong IT skills with confidence using Word, Excel, Outlook (and ideally case management systems)
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure
• Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary to join a well-established law firm in Lichfield, providing dedicated support to a solicitor within the busy Commercial Property department.

This role is perfect for someone with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and prior experience supporting fee earners in a legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of the department. Typical duties will include:

• Managing diaries, scheduling meetings and coordinating appointments
• Handling client correspondence, queries and telephone calls in line with client care standards
• Opening and closing case files and maintaining accurate client records on the firm’s case management system
• Preparing legal documents such as contract packs, transfer forms and supporting paperwork
• Submitting SDLT returns to HMRC and registering property applications with the Land Registry
• Drafting and producing letters, forms and bills (including from dictation)
• Managing hard copy files, including filing, scanning, copying and retrieval

About you

To be considered for this Commercial Property Legal Assistant role, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary , ideally within property law

• Strong IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and case management software
