About This Role


  • As a global leader in Civil Aviation training, we are now looking to recruit an experienced Ground School Instructor to join our training team and provide our CAE students/customers with first class theoretical knowledge instruction in line with our set syllabus. You will deliver up to three of the thirteen chosen ATPL(A) EASA and UK CAA examination subjects with passion and enthusiasm, instilling best practice and discipline in the classroom, to better prepare our customers for their future career in the airlines.

    You will also have the opportunity to contribute your ideas and support Ground School Management with reviewing existing teaching styles and materials; modernising the GS product to ensure all level of students are being included, any special needs are being catered for and lastly making recommendations for further educational innovation and improvement within the GS department. Training delivery will take place in the classroom and via other methods (e.g. virtually).

    The role we are offering you

    • Instruct specialist Ground Training subjects (up to three chosen subjects) to standards in line with specified timeframes, as defined by the CTKI

    • Plan and prepare lesson plans for all relevant subjects taught using the appropriate teaching methods

    • Monitor the progression of all students, using CBT as part of an ATPL(A) Theoretical Knowledge course and ensure any issues are addressed in the form of additional tutorial or advice as required

    • Monitor student's progress throughout their time in Ground School, reporting any educational or pastoral concerns immediately to the CTKI or equivalent, or when they are identified

    • Meet instructional standards at each standardisation review as defined by the CTKI

    • Administer and maintain a high standard of student reports, assessments and records based on accurate results and interactions with students

    • Contribute and assist in the development of CAE Ground Training materials (new and existing) as appropriate to a quality standard as defined by the CTKI Contribute to and undertake responsibilities as 'Subject Specialist' and 'Mentorship' responsibilities as required by the CTKI or equivalent.

    • Support and contribute towards CAE achieving overall customer service standards

What is the role?

The Airfield Civils Manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the integrity of London Gatwick's airfield infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, stands, and airside roads. This role demands strategic oversight of civil engineering maintenance, contractor management, and regulatory compliance across approximately 1.8 million m² of operational surfaces. The ideal candidate will bring deep civil engineering expertise, experience managing complex service contracts, and a proactive approach to asset stewardship and safety.

What will you do?

  • Maintenance and repair of all Runways, Taxiways, Stands and Airside Roads.
  • Works closely with both the civils principal engineer and airfield construction team to design, implement and develop a civils maintenance and asset stewardship system and replacement plan.
  • Day to day management of the Airside Civils maintenance contract and the principal contractor to ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance.
  • Responsible for ensuring maintenance contractors Health, Safety and Environment standards meet regulatory and GAL requirements.
  • Ensure civils assets perform, are maintained and are compliant with aerodrome licensing requirements.
  • Organise and manage condition surveys of Runways, Taxiways, Stands and airside structures to support the maintenance strategy, asset stewardship process and asset replacement plan.
  • Produces effective communication and reports to all stakeholders, including GAL teams, ATC, Airlines & handling agents to enable operation.
  • Management of delegated costs to ensure operational budget targets are met.

  • Experience in managing and directing contractors in an Engineering environment focusing on innovation and operational excellence.
  • Fully qualified Chartered Engineer (or working towards)
  • Proven knowledge & understanding of stakeholder engagement and management.

What is the role?

  • Reporting into the Lead Design Manager, you will play a key role in the team, responsible for owning the end-to-end design process from the start of the project to its completion. This includes overseeing smaller projects as required.

You'll have the opportunity to be significantly involved in delivering the strategic objectives of projects, as well as the opportunity to take the lead of your own projects from inception to completion. In addition, this role requires:

  • Previous experience planning infrastructure projects as a Senior Planner on multi-year programmes within the construction or infrastructure sectors, working on projects/programmes typically more than £10 million.
  • Previous experience leading small teams.
  • Extensive experience with Primavera P6 and related commercial acumen
  • Demonstrable experience in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders to explain complex or abstract ideas straightforwardly.
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills, along with the ability to motivate, coach, facilitate, and create learning opportunities for others.

London Gatwick is looking for a Design Manager to lead the delivery of design elements across major construction and infrastructure projects. As part of the Airfield & Civils Construction Programme Delivery Team, you'll help shape the infrastructure that underpins Gatwick's future growth—enhancing resilience, safety, and sustainability across our airfield.

We're looking for a Design Manager (Civils) to play a key role in our capital investment programme. Reporting to the Lead Design Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the development and coordination of design activities across a major civil engineering project—ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and alignment with strategic objectives.

You'll work in a collaborative, alongside innovators, technical specialists, and delivery teams—gaining full lifecycle exposure from concept through to completion. At London Gatwick, your work will have a visible impact, contributing to the long-term success of a key piece of the UK's critical national infrastructure.

What is the role?

  • Reporting into the Lead Design Manager, you will play a key role in the team, responsible for owning the end-to-end design process from the start of the project to its completion. This includes overseeing smaller projects as required.
  • Other duties include:
  • Developing project scopes that support the business to meet its needs
  • Finding innovative design solutions that meet project scopes, are realistically deliverable, meet GAL engineering standards, and are cost effective
  • Developing clear and transparent design briefs for external design consultants
  • Managing and reviewing the outputs of external design consultants, to ensure effective implementation of designs that meet quality requirements and are aligned with delivery milestones and governance tollgates.
  • Work with the Asset Information Team and other stakeholders to determine the asset information requirements for design and construction contracts

What are we looking for?

The live environment at Gatwick requires all our teams to have a flexible and adaptable approach, problem solving skills and an innovative outlook. Involved in projects from inception to completion you will work alongside multiple internal and external stakeholders. In addition, this role requires:

Previous multi-disciplinary experience in an engineering design or design management role, ideally in a live operational environment with responsibility for delivering safety critical outcomes, with a strong focus on significant multi-year infrastructure programmes of work with a value of more than £150 m lion (ideally in a relevant infrastructure field).

Demonstrable knowledge of design, construction techniques, technical requirements and construction regulations. Also, expertise in addressing constructability challenges, especially for major building projects in live operational settings.

Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams.

Educated to Degree level or equivalent in an architecture, engineering or construction related field.
