Engineering Product Assurance Department (EPAD). Sitting outside of the programmes engineering management, EPAD provides an independent risk-based assessment on the effectiveness of governance, engineering management, and internal controls across Level 1 & 2 assurance activities. The Level 3 output also provides an independent view to the Engineering Authority (EA) and senior programme stakeholders on product/design maturity and identifies areas where intervention or improvement may be required. When appropriate the Level 3 activity should also draw upon pan-functional mutual assurance in accordance with Independent Internal Assurance.
