  • Planning each session of teaching / tutoring / mentoring
  • Providing the young person with holistic and engaging sessions which meet their needs and advance their educational and social-emotional journey
  • Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on the young person's progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements:
  • Professional Teaching Qualifications (Qualified Teacher Status / QTS / QTLS)
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience
  • Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and / or other Additional Educational Needs
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes

As a Therapist, you will offer consultation sessions to those Foster Parents who need help when they are working with particular difficulties in the placements, consultation to other staff within the team to discuss issues that arise in relation to actual or potential placements and to external Local Authorities, Social Workers and the young person's school.

This rewarding role allows you to build firm relationships with our new Foster Parents by running sessions/groups for new foster parents during their first year and to facilitate their understanding in what it means to be a therapeutic foster carer.

It would be beneficial to have experience of working within a fostering service or similar. You should be able to evidence your administration skills, ability to follow regulatory policies and processes, and have the ability to work well within a fast paced team.
