Are you a qualified Electrician, living in Somerset, looking for a change? Our Electrical team is looking for great people to come and join them.
You’ll bring your proven track record of carrying out electrical installations in a domestic dwelling to support the electrical team. Your work is scheduled in for you and jobs are shared with you via an electronic handheld device (your PDA) so you’ll be comfortable using technology and IT systems.
You’ll work alone primarily, so you’ll be confident working to your own initiative, but you will get plenty of support from your team. The team get together for team meetings, and you’ll attend toolbox talks for regular training and company updates.
You’ll be given a company vehicle to get around, so you’ll need a full UK driving licence. You'll be about and about working in customer's homes throughout the region.
You’ll be an ambassador for us with a “can do” attitude and a right service, first time mentality. You’ll enjoy providing high quality service to our customers whilst being the friendly face of Aster.
About You
You’ll be a fully qualified electrician, holding an AM2 qualification or equivalent, with demonstrable experience in domestic electrical installations. You will carry out inspection and testing to British standards to a set programme, advising on progress and completing all necessary records in hard and electronic files as required.
As an electrician, you’ll know that safety is priority therefore you’ll have knowledge and understanding of safety regulations and will carry out all works in line with this. You’ll also have a good understanding of health & safety regulations.
You’ll be motivated with a focus on customer service as you’ll be in our customers’ homes every day.
You will be customer facing, take pride in your work, have good problem solving and installation skills and be willing to become a key contributor to providing an excellent level of service and customer satisfaction.
You’ll also liaise with our internal colleagues to ensure works are completed and any ongoing works are logged appropriately. You’ll have a flexible approach to work with the ability to take part in an out of hours standby rota within your region.
You’ll be able to work effectively in a team and autonomously when necessary and have enthusiasm for providing excellent customer service and an ability to keep calm in difficult situations. Good communication skills both verbally and written are essential for this role. You will need to be willing and able to meet face fit requirements. As mentioned, you’ll be provided with a company van so you’ll need a full, UK driving licence.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment providing administrative support to the neighbourhood officers and dealing with a variety of customer queries. You will manage the mutual exchange process, tenancy changes and updating tenancy records alongside other tenancy queries, both by phone and email.
You won’t always be at your desk; you may be out and about completing mutual exchange visits and supporting with neighbourhood inspections as required across the county, so there’s a real mix of housing management exposure and an opportunity to further your current housing knowledge.
There’ll be elements of administrative tasks such as letter writing, mail merges, keeping records up to date and electronic filing, so you can happily base yourself at home if you wish for this element of the role.
About you

You’ll need to have a full UK driving licence so you can get out and about on visits and access to a vehicle to do so.

This role is an integral part of our development programme, ensuring the quality of Aster's new build homes during construction, at practical completion and the end of the defect's liability period.
What you’ll be doing
You will have regular site visits (preferably weekly or at least at key stages) to ensure that building work is being carried out in accordance with the statutory requirements, the specification and the conditions of the contract.
You will be inspecting and reporting on progress, quality of workmanship, passive fire stopping installations and key stage works. This will enable you to discuss with the project team any issues that require further attention or remediation.
You will be working with both internal and external teams including (but not limited to) the Senior Clerk of Works, Internal Agents and Project Managers and Surveyors. You will be expected to maintain and develop relationships with these parties as well as the Site Management team and External Agents.
About you
You will have proven experience in a technical site-based role, so will be able to demonstrate experience of working on residential construction projects of various sizes.
You will have a good working knowledge of building / technical practices as well as related legislation and health & safety issues.
You’ll be educated to Level 3 or equivalent in a construction related subject. You will hold a CSCS card and will have the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, with demonstrable skills in identifying potential issues with the quality of construction.
You’ll be out and about across our sites, so you’ll require a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes. You will be suitably based in Dorset, Somerset or Wiltshire and the role will cover these regions along with Hampshire, Berkshire and Gloucestershire.
