The role:
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Higford school.
Following an extensive upgrade to the school site and Clinical spaces, we are excited to invite applications from Occupational Therapists with a passion for supporting young people with diverse profiles, embedding independence and sensory processing into the timetable. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will assess and plan interventions for our cohort of students, with the support of an OT Assistant and the Clinical Site Lead.

Essential Criteria:
- Recognised Occupational Therapy degree

Key Responsibilities

Salary: £25,500 per annum (Not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 08:45 - 16:20
Contract: Permanent, Term time only

About the Role
As a Pastoral Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in the daily life of our school, becoming a trusted adult and a calm, consistent presence for our students. You’ll work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, families, and external professionals to break down barriers to learning, promote positive behaviours, and champion the wellbeing of every child in your care.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Reporting to SLT on patterns in pupil behaviour and contributing to whole-school strategies for wellbeing and behaviour.
- Supporting students with reintegration following absences or incidents — helping them feel safe, seen, and supported.
- Implementing positive behaviour support strategies and modelling effective interventions.
- Using our online behaviour management system to accurately log and monitor pupil progress.
- Responding swiftly to on-call requests to provide in-class support when needed.
- Collaborating with teaching staff to maintain consistent approaches to engagement and regulation.
- Helping students meet personal goals and build their confidence, self-regulation, and independence.
- Acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Person and championing a strong safeguarding culture.
- Sharing best practice and supporting CPD, helping to shape a staff team that is confident, capable, and compassionate.

Smallbrook School is a co-educational day school based halfway between Shrewsbury and Wem in Shropshire. We are currently expanding our capacity from 50 to 80 students, with significant investment in our site to develop our KS2 and sixth form provision.
We cater to pupils aged 7–18 with a range of complex needs, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as those diagnosed with autism or displaying behaviours associated with autism.

Maintenance Technician – North Wales
Join our dynamic team in North Wales as a Maintenance Technician, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our advanced manufacturing equipment. This hands-on position involves installing, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing a range of Extrusion and Fibre Termination Machines, as well as associated plant and equipment—all to a high professional standard and within set timeframes. This role currently operates on a 3-shift rotating schedule(Morning/Evning/Night), with the expectation to move to a 12-hour, 2-shift pattern. This shift structure is a requirement for the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance in line with established schedules, standards, and procedures, maintaining accurate records.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults swiftly to minimize downtime and ensure high service levels.
- Carry out repairs on machinery and equipment, both mechanical and electrical.
- Maintain detailed documentation of breakdowns and repairs to support ISO 9000 compliance and performance analysis.
- Liaise with equipment suppliers regarding spare parts, service visits, and ongoing maintenance planning.
- Act as a go-to expert for operational and machinery-related queries.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support investment projects.
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant Maintenance Technician or Engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in a maintenance environment, with strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Hands-on experience with structural repairs, chillers, pumps, gearboxes, and continuous manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and precision alignment of machines, motors, gearboxes, and pumps.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in repetitive production environments.
