The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Plant Accountant to join our Finance Team here at March. Reporting to the Plant Accountant, the role will be responsible for providing vital support to the finance team in various aspects of accounting and financial management. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and professional development within the field of management accounting. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and cost control while working closely with senior accountants and finance managers.

This is a great opportunity for someone to further develop their finance skills in a broad finance role and to achieve their CIMA qualification.

Key responsibilites of this role:

  • Support Plant Accountant to provide professional, reliable and accurate and timely reporting on business performance
  • Provide cover to the Plant Accountant in periods of absence
  • Support Health and Safety initiatives at site
  • Assist in the controlling and understanding of general ledger
  • Perform month-end close activities such as producing and reviewing reports, posting journal entries, reviewing and reconciling accounts, and calculating accruals, provisions and prepayments
  • Supporting to ensure SOX reporting is timely and accurate, including all balance sheet reconciliations and order to cash system controls
  • Provide cover to both the Credit Controller and Accounts Payable
  • Support the month end financial reporting pack and submission
  • Support the Budgeting and RF cycle processes
  • Support the reporting and analysis on the sites CTO projects
  • Review and resolving webcycle queries
  • Assist line managers with and submit vendor creation requests

The successful candidate will ideally be someone who has a relevant finance degree or who has achieved their AAT qualification and is committed to studying for the CIMA qualification. A Level entry level into AAT will also be considered. Previous work experience in a finance team for a large organisation is desirable, but not essential

The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to actively progress the business in all aspects of the Corrugator within production. The role will be responsible for the operational functions of the process area to ensure the output requirements of the business are met and to exceed targets for safety, efficiency, output, quality and waste.

Key Responsibilites of the role:

  • Supporting development of the Corrugator team ensuring that all system processes, health, safety and quality systems are trained and adhered to
  • Supporting development of the Corrugator team with completing appraisals and identifying areas of development/training
  • Completion of audits of current processes to identify areas of improvement
  • Development of new process working documents and delivering training
  • Managing waste management control and identifying areas of improvement
  • Achieving production KPI’s in line with the business strategy
  • Understanding and adhering to quality control and supporting the Quality department in continuously looking at reducing Corrugator complaints
  • Establish and maintain regular feedback and information flow between the corrugator, conversion, despatch and customer services to secure smooth product flow.
  • Oversee maintenance works across the production area and plan the preventive initiatives in close conjunction with the Engineering Department to secure availability of required capacities
  • Ensure appropriate product / machinery allocation and undertake the corrective actions if required to ensure the optimal output in terms of quality and costs

The successful candidate should have:

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • 5 years + manufacturing experience including people management
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Analytical thinking
  • Self-managing
  • Forward planning skills
  • Experience in process development and project management
  • Leadership qualification e.g. ILM level 5
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
  • Visionary with the ability to see the bigger picture

About the role

We have a unique opportunity for someone to join our team to provide practical support for work led and experience-based learning for adults with disabilities. Our Employability Support Workers support individuals to gain the skills and experience to enable them to move to voluntary or paid work and provide practical support, training, and encouragement so that trainees can build on their own skills and abilities whilst respecting their individual needs and choices.

The role is 3 days a week, hours are generally 8.50am-4pm some flexibility may be required depending on service need.

About you You will have an awareness of working with people with learning and/or physical disabilities, experience in a customer facing role and promoting skills for those individuals with a disability. You will also be flexible and adaptable as the service grows and develops. You will also ideally have skills with baking as this is a large part of the role.

Due to the nature of the work and the working environment, the post holder will often be lone working and will not readily have support and/or supervision available. You will therefore need to be able to respond immediately to emergency situations or other challenging situations by assessing the situation as it arises and the consequence level of risk to the service user and others.

Please be aware this role is for 20.5 hours per week every week on a rota and there is no flexibility with the hours offered. As this role is part time, it does not meet the salary requirement for us to be able to offer sponsorship.
