Customer Experience Assistant (Part-Time, Reduced Year) - Leeds, Leeds

This is a part-time, reduced year role: 25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year. 

We are seeking a Customer Experience Assistant to become part of our team at the new Pudsey Sixth Form Campus. We are a friendly and enthusiastic team with a passion for working with a diverse group of people to deliver an outstanding customer experience to our students, visitors, and stakeholders.

You will be part of a constantly growing team of customer experience assistants working on a busy reception, no one day is the same, you will deal a variety of enquiries including giving information and guidance to potential and current students to guide them to their chosen course and career path.

We take pride in guiding our students on their journey to achieve their aspirations. Our perfect day is to see all our students start their college day with a smile and to have fun while they learn!

We are a part of a 50 plus strong Customer Experience, Student Recruitment Department and we are located in central Leeds with easy access to the train and bus station. Our customer experience teams are located at various campus sites across Leeds and are part of Luminate Education Group.

What You Will Do:
  • Greet everyone with a smile, be friendly and enthusiastic to all students, visitors, and stake holders.
  • To provide outstanding customer service, information and guidance over several different contact facilities, including face to face, telephone, email and web chat that represents the Luminate brand.
  • Provide information and guidance to current and potential students on their journey from application to enrolment.
  • Identify customers' needs, clarify information, research every issue and provide solutions and/or alternatives.
  • Take an active part in all college student recruitment related events such as open days and curriculum specific activities.
  • Promote course specific curriculum programs and activities.
  • Work to flexible and diverse workflows and shift patterns in line with business needs including the occasional Saturday.
About You:
  • Relevant Customer Service qualification/training/experience.
  • Experience of working in a customer focused role/environment.
  • Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google application.
  • Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality requirements.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Problem Solving skills.
  • Literacy and Numeracy at Level 2 or above.

Must be willing to work across campuses within Leeds City Centre and Pudsey.

Job Title: Pastoral Coach (School of Travel, Food and Drink) Salary: Commencing at £28,796 with progression to £30,527 per annumClosing Date: About the Role

Leeds City College are seeking a full-time Pastoral Coach who has the personality, skills and knowledge to support and nurture our student body, with a view to enrich the learning experience and promote positive outcomes.

The School of Travel, Food, and Drink offers a wide range of study programmes and apprenticeship opportunities to both 16-18 and 19+ learners who are looking to pursue a career in Hospitality, Catering, Aviation and Travel/Tourism. Our course offers range from Entry Level 3, for learners who may be applying to college with limited previous experience of qualifications through to Level 3 Diploma programmes of study which enable students to progress to higher education or supervisory positions within industry. The team have an extensive range of skills, knowledge and experience from their specialist industry backgrounds which is invaluable to the teaching, learning and assessment process.

What You Will Do
  • Plan and deliver pastoral lessons within the PDBA framework.
  • Support the Curriculum, Maths and English team to ensure attendance is a priority
  • Give academic support, extra encouragement, mentoring and pastoral support to all students inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Undertake the role of a designated safeguarding officer ( following training).
  • Work with teaching staff to support the achievement of excellent outcomes for each student.
  • Support teaching staff where individual student behaviour within a group is impacting on the learning of the group as a whole.
  • Assist in the induction of the students into the curriculum and college life.
  • Develop a 1:1 relationship with individual students, meeting regularly to review progress against the action plan.
  • Support staff on visits and off-site activities.
About You
  • Experience of working with students, particularly age 16+.
  • Experience of working with schools, parents, and external support agencies.
  • Have a good knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
  • Experience of student-centred approaches to learning and different styles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Able to work positively & effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.

Leeds City College are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Hospitality Team Member to join our Travel, Food and Drink department. As part of our dynamic team, you will support the delivery of high-quality catering lessons and help create a positive, professional and inspiring learning environment for our students. Working closely with our chef tutors and hospitality staff, you will play a key role in ensuring lessons run smoothly, resources are well-organised, and students gain real-world experience in a supportive and engaging setting. A passion for hospitality, teamwork, and excellent customer service is essential, along with a genuine commitment to helping students succeed and enjoy their learning.

This is a variable hours, fixed term contract (6 months) role. You will be expected to work up to 37 hours per week to cover for staff absence. Please note that the hours may be reduced or withdrawn entirely should the staff member return to work during the contract period.

What You Will Do
  • Support staff by setting up class trolleys, teaching materials, and supporting the student shop.
  • Identify food products that need to be utilized to minimize waste, suggesting how these items can be used in classes or to produce goods for the student shop. 
  • Give technical and product assistance to learners and staff.
  • Ensure all cleaning duties are completed to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within all kitchens, equipment and storage areas are cleaned and well maintained, and undertake planned deep clean activities as required. 
  • Ensure equipment and resources are maintained following safe working practices and manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Demonstration of safe working practice and procedures within curriculum area including wearing of correct PPE.
  • Maintain records for chilled, ambient, and frozen goods within legal limits for safe delivery and that all required documents are completed for due diligence purposes.
  • Support the Deputy Head of the department to ensure food cost targets are adhered to, using electronic and manual monitoring systems.
About You
  • Level 2 Maths & English or willingness to achieve.
  • Experience of working within an educational catering environment.
  • Experience in dealing with external customers and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Experience of providing effective hygiene support, monitoring food safety and due diligence systems.
  • Experience of collating and processing orders and deliveries.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to relate to all levels of staff, students, clients and stakeholders.

What You Will Do

We are looking for a teacher to contribute to the delivery of our courses in Media Studies, to students working at levels 2 and 3. Our students learn skills across a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to: 

  • Print and digital journalism.
  • Filming techniques and cinematography.
  • Sound production and design.
  • Video editing.
  • Media and audience theory.

The ideal candidate will have skills in a number of these areas.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning delivery of the subject matter, creating lessons and teaching resources in line with the objectives of the curriculum. 
  • Teaching the principles and practical skills to help our students along the path to a career in the media industries. 
  • Tracking individual student progress: assessing work and feeding back in a way which helps learners to develop their abilities and understanding.
  • Working as part of a team to create a nurturing, positive environment for the students.

Leeds City College are recruiting for a Head of Creative Media and Digital Arts to join our team based at our Quarry Hill Campus.

We are looking for a passionate, creative individual who is ready to take Creative Media and Digital Arts to the next level.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role with significant experience in Further Education. They will be outcomes focused ensuring that we deliver the highest standards of education for our students.

The Department of Creative Media and Digital Arts was assessed by the college quality processes as Outstanding for 24/25 with key strengths around achievement, industry links and progression to HE programmes.
