Repair Centre Technician

Role location : Cambridge, UK

We are looking for a skilled Repair Centre Technician to join our team in Cambridge and play a vital role in supporting our in-house repair and pilot line capabilities for the Sentimag Gen2 and Gen3 Probes and Base Units.

We're looking for people who have engineering experience ideally from within a medical device background who love troubleshooting and problem solving, are driven to exceed customer expectations and have passion for quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct incoming, inline, and end-of-line testing on components and products to verify compliance with quality standards
  • Calibrate and maintain tooling and equipment to ensure ongoing accuracy and reliability within the Repair Centre
  • Prepare repair documentation, generate quotes, create work orders and deliver progress updates
  • Decontamination and incoming inspection of products returning from the field
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the introduction of new repair procedures, tooling and processes
  • Assist with inventory management of spare parts and materials required for repair activities

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in a manufacturing/service/repair environment 
  • Experience using electrical test equipment; Oscilloscope, multi-meter etc. 
  • Experience soldering/ performing PCB repair and fault finding will be highly advantageous
  • ERP system knowledge within a manufacturing/service/repair environment
  • Proficient use of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic inventory management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach

As Senior Product Engineer at Endomag, a Hologic company, you will play a critical role in supporting released products and managing the transition of new innovations from R&D to our manufacturing partners, collaborating closely with QA/RA teams and suppliers. You will be responsible for investigating customer feedback, monitoring product performance, and identifying opportunities for improvement in design, manufacturing, and usage. Additionally, you will actively participate in post-market surveillance and work to address emergent failure modes, ensuring that products consistently meet highest quality standards and deliver optimal outcomes for customers and patients.

Due to the nature of the role, UK and international travel will be required  - around 25%

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as technical lead for sustaining activities on current surgical guidance and implantable products. Manage and resolve product issues related to manufacturing, quality, or field performance in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Drive improvements to design for manufacturability, serviceability, and cost-efficiency. Work with the Endomag Repair Centre to develop and improve repair processes for existing and new products.
  • Support change control processes and documentation in alignment with quality system requirements.
  • Support the transfer of new products to manufacturing partners ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and R&D.
  • Participate in supplier audits, validations, and technical reviews. Work with supply chain to ensure product is supplied to stringent quality levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable medical device regulations, including ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and MDR.
  • Support regulatory submissions through compilation of Design History Files (particularly later stages), device manufacturing records and regulatory documentation.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A technical or scientific background in engineering.
  • Experience in high-tech engineering to exacting standards, ideally within medical device industry.
  • Understanding of quality and regulatory requirements, including ISO 13485, MDSAP, MDD/MDR, and 21 CFR.
  • Experience working with international manufacturing or supply partners.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in leading process & continuous improvement projects, ensuring successful implementation within set timelines.
  • Comfortable working in a high-compliance, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques for monitoring and improving manufacturing processes.

SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities:
  • Planning each session of teaching / tutoring / mentoring
  • Providing the young person with holistic and engaging sessions which meet their needs and advance their educational and social-emotional journey
  • Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on the young person's progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements:
  • Professional Teaching Qualifications (Qualified Teacher Status / QTS / QTLS)

Who we need The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) is seeking a visionary and strategic Development & Income Director to lead our income generation, membership, and commercial partnership efforts. This is a pivotal role at the heart of IWF's leadership team, driving long-term sustainability and impact through ambitious fundraising and engagement strategies. As a senior leader, you will provide visible and values-driven leadership across the organisation, working closely with the Chief Executive and the Executive Team to shape and deliver strategic priorities. You will support the Chair and Board of Trustees in advancing performance and innovation, while championing an inclusive culture that reflects IWF's mission and values. You will lead the development and execution of a ten-year income growth strategy, setting ambitious targets and overseeing all fundraising, membership, and commercial partnership activities. This includes designing mission driven commercial opportunities, building compelling cases for support, and ensuring strong return on investment. You will embed a culture of income generation and external engagement, enhance member retention and engagement, and leverage digital solutions and partnership opportunities to strengthen relationships that help us achieve our strategy. Internally, you will manage budgets, lead a high-performing team, and provide strategic insight to the Board and relevant committees. We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic leader with a proven track record in income generation, fundraising, and strategic partnerships. You bring exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, a long-term strategic mindset, and a commitment to innovation and measurable impact. Above all, you are passionate about IWF's mission and values, and ready to make a meaningful difference. About us In 1996 the IWF was founded with four staff members and a determination to do what’s right; we assessed 26 reports in our Hotline that year and found two instances of child sexual abuse imagery. Today, the assessment of more than over 2.1 million reports has led to the successful removal of millions of child sexual abuse images and videos across more than 1.2 million illegal webpages globally.
